The Myers-Briggs Type Theory is based on Carl Jung 's Analytical Theory, an interpretation of Freud 's Psychodynamic Theory (Tsuji, B.H., 2018). It is a self administered test, comprising of Yes/No questions relating to how the test taker would behave in certain situations. The results of the test is a 4 character code that describes how aligned someone is with the following defined personality attributes: Introverted or Extraverted (I or E), Sensing or Intuitive (S or N), Thinking or Feeling (T or F), and Judging or Perceiving (J or P). These letters combine into 16 different possible personality types (NERIS Analytics Limited, 2018). My Myers-Briggs Type Inventory code (MBTI) is ENTJ (Humanmetrics Inc., 2018). This means I am extroverted
The Jung Typology Assessment concluded that my personality type was considered a ESFJ type. According to the results, it says my personality is Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging. We are called "a provider." Although after ready your results, I could see myself being a ENFJ as well. We share similar traits.
As an ENTJ personality I am considered to be an extraverted, big picture thinker, who makes objective decisions and organizes work tasks to achieve maximum accomplishments (Kroeger, Thuesen, & Rutledge, 2002). I am 22% Extraverted, 22% iNtuitive, 38% Thinker, and 1% Judging (Humanmetrics, 2017). These percentages
Overview I took the Myers-Briggs Personality test and tested as an ENTJ. I felt that the this gave me an accurate rating and felt that the description it gave was accurate. I went and read the descriptions for all the other personality types to see if any of them were a better match.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an important look at the methods humans use in our interaction with our shared environments and how we relate differently to shared experiences (Cohen, D., Cohen M., Cross, H., 1981). Differences in how individuals relate to and understand our surroundings are displayed and sorted using scales for several fields. Extroversion and introversion are determined and assigned to this indicator using either E or I. A clear definition between sensing and intuition is also defined by the assignment of S or N. Also, thinking and feeling are compared and determined adding the letters of either T or F to the result. The last letter in ones conformed profile will include either J or P for judging compared to perception.
I was given the traits ISFJ, which stands for introverted,
Perhaps one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make in my life so far was whether to not to go on a mission for my church. This decision was about more than choosing love over religion, but about what it would mean for my life. Taking the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) has been a great opportunity for me. After taking the MBTI I learned that I am an ENFJ, this is something that has helped understand more about myself and major decisions I have made in the past; such as not going on a mission or not going to a four year college. I have learned not only what these traits mean, but in what circumstances they are used; like the fact that shadow, or opposite, traits tend to emerge in highly stressful situations.
Week one: Reflection Paper Assignment The personality type that was indicated from my completion of the MBTI puzzle is introvert, sensing, feeling, and judging (ISFJ). I would say what surprised me the most about these results were the personality tendencies of sensing and introvert. The personality tendency of sensing says I am practical and cost effective. I do not feel like I am practical when it comes to money
I performed the assessment on January 26th at 9pm, and the assessment is an abbreviation for "Myers–Briggs Type Indicator.” It describes people by dividing several categories such as “Extraversion or Introversion”, “Sensing or Intuition”, “Thinking or Feeling”, and “Judging or Perceiving.” As for me, the result is “ISTJ” which are introversion, sensing, thinking, and judging. The purposes of this assessment are to understand about myself, to build future plans for finding a job, and to improve my relationship with other people.
Individuals who score high are extraverts. They tend to be outgoing, talkative, assertive, active, energetic, excited and optimistic. They enjoy crowd, social gatherings and working in groups. Individuals who score low are introverts. They tend to be reserved rather than unfriendly, independent rather than followers, even-paced rather than sluggish.
I’ve always felt like an outsider among everyone I come intact with and never belong anywhere. It’s like a lot of individuals tell me that I’m difficult to understand or put together like a billion pieces to a puzzle that was sitting on a table for months. I’m a misunderstood person who doesn’t like explaining myself at times because I feel like it’s a waste of my time and that’s one thing I don’t like doing. I tend to say what I believe is right. People say I’m a mean human being.
The concept of personality has fascinated psychologists for years. Allport proposed the hierarchy of traits – cardinal, central, and secondary traits (Allport, 1945). Cattell also proposed his theory, the sixteen dimensions of human personality (Cattell, 1944). Jung developed a type-based theory of personality, with different dichotomous personality categories, which was further developed by Myers and Briggs in 1962 to produce the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (Ford, 2013). Some psychologists have even argued that personality does not exist; that people change behaviour over time and across various situations.
She, along with her mother, Katharine Cook Briggs, would go on to develop the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instrument in 1962. With the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, they were aiming for the ability to make Jung's theory accessible to individuals and groups by generalizing the information from his original work. They tested their concepts by creating a questionnaire and then began collecting data to determine whether certain preferences accurately measured what was intended. During the original phase of development, they took 20 people that they had relationships with and whose type they felt they knew from observation over many years. If a certain answer appeared multiple times it seemed to indicate a preference.
Personality is one of the main areas of psychology research. Over the years, researchers developed theories trying to explain how people are different and similar. Personality traits were grouped together to be determinants of more general traits such as Extraversion, Agreeableness or Neuroticism. The traits were tested for various correlations. All this to better understand why people behave the way they do and how big impact does the personality have on behaviour.
According Myers-Briggs Indicator I have an introversion attitude. Because I am more comfortable dealing with my consciousness
Personality is defined as the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual 's unique character. Personality theory is the approaches to understanding the “What”, “How” and “When” of characteristics and features that make up an individual 's personality. An insight into personality is important to understand the function of a person’s mind. By doing this you would be able to understand and observe your own psyche from an outside perspective, interact with others better and understand why they do what they do or predict how someone may react to something. My personality can be describe as Introverted since I am reserved, practical and quiet.
