The following limitations and constraints have been identified from initial stages of this project, all the way to closing the project: • Training and Awareness Having the right skills, knowledge, or general awareness about how the proposed solution will meet the business drivers is vital. These will encourage team work between the project team and the associated business units to meet the project plan and schedules, and deliver the desired results. • System uptake Understanding how the new system will work and how it will improve the work flow is important to ultimate success. Adopting the system will require a culture change within the organisation and moving staff from their comfort zone onto a new platform of doing business can be difficult.…show more content…
Project background CarParts productions is a specialized CarParts manufacturer who supply parts to car manufacturers, vehicle maintenance and service companies. CarParts are based in Australia and they have two manufacturing plants. One is in Melbourne, Victoria and Freemantle, WA. The head office for the sales team is based out of Melbourne. Distribution centres exist at both locations and now as part of their emergent strategy, CarParts have the view to expand into the sub-continent and they are eyeing a partnership with Tata Motors. CarParts believes that a major component of their success is through customer contentment. They want to achieve the same by delivering products at the right time, right place and the right price. Key to this is to standardize their processes that are focussed on adding value to their customers. Business Intelligence would help to consolidate and integrate the information and process involved in the business for better efficiencies whereas CRM would help in retrieving relevant details from a centrally managed master customer file so that all departments and regions can streamline the business to cater to the customers better. This would bring consistency in delivering new products and also to plan strategically. SWOT Analysis of CarParts productions: • Strengths CarParts have years of experience in Manufacturing CarParts. They have a strong supplier network along with partnerships of global dealers.
