2. Constructing the Confidence Interval
According to Sullivan (2006), when the n ≥30, the sampling distribution of the sample mean becomes normal and therefore, the z table for the standard normal distribution is used. In this case, the sample is mean is greater than 30 and therefore the t-distribution cannot be used. The second reason the z distribution is used in this case is that the standard deviation known as well as the sample mean. According to Shao (2008), a confidence interval is the range of values determined from a sample statistic and the specified confidence level. In this case, the

The area corresponds to a value of z-value of -1.645
In this case, the statistic value is -1.4824 is greater than the critical value is -1.645 the null hypothesis is accepted, the mean is equal to 16 ounces. There is no evidence to suggest that the mean of the ounces is lower than 16 ounces provided by the company.
Conclusion of the Test
From the test, it is clear that the claim that there is less ounces of soda in a bottle is wrong and therefore, the company is operating within the required ounces. In this case, one of the reason the customers could be claiming that the amount of ounces is the bottle is lower than 16 is because the design of the bottle has changed. The company has changed the shape of the bottle and the new look could be deceiving in the eyes of the customer. The bottle might appear shorter than the previous bottles due to the new design, which then makes the amount of the drink in the bottle to be less than the 16 ounces. In addition to this, the company has introduced a new label with the new bottle shape, which covers the level of the drink, and therefore the customers could be inclined to thinking that the amount of the drink has been

This approach has therefore led many companies to emphasize on product and package shape since the changes in packages shape can have a significant influence on profit and sales. Based on this argument, the company will therefore change the shape and label of the bottle to ensure that the amount of liquid in the bottle is clearly seen by the customers. The bottle shape will be changed to a style than is perceived healthy and will lead respondents to rate the product as relative healthier. In order to ensure that the amount of drink is within the required amount, the company will ensure that it works closely with the quality assurance department to ensure that the customers are informed that the right amount of ounces are dispensed into the bottles (Ruumpol

Description of Experiment: Hypothesis Actual Hypothesis: If the majority of the pillbugs are on one side of the choice chamber, regardless of the conditions (wet or dry) of that area, then the rest of the bugs will move to that area. Null Hypothesis: The majority of the pillbugs being on one side of the choice chamber does NOT affect where the rest reside to. Alternative Hypothesis: If the majority of the pillbugs are on one side of the choice chamber, then the minority will control/convince the majority to come over to that side.

In this experiment, we are testing whether or not the Isopods' have more of a preference for an environment with syrup or with water. The alternative hypothesis we devised is that if the Isopods are placed in between a syrup and a water chamber, then they will go towards the syrup chamber. This is believed because we believe the Isopods may have an attraction to the sweet scent and taste of the syrup. My group and I observed 10 pillbugs behavior over the span of 5 minutes, recording the number of pill bugs found in each chamber every 30 seconds. We fail to reject the null hypothesis because the chi squared value is 3.6 which is less than 3.84 (critical value at .05).
