3 Learning goals: These are the goals I have set as a Radiologic Technologist and my future goal of becoming a Physician Assistant in providing quality patient care to all people regardless of race, gender, sex, creed, religion, or socio-economic status.

This week I focused my research on obstacles present, in our current healthcare system, which may inhibit the implementation of holistic care practices. Unfortunately, I believe in order to effectively incorporate holistic practices understanding of their importance, in caring for the whole individual, will require a new mind-set from the “top down” within medical facilities. If these practices are to flourish, and be utilized alongside traditional medical practices, education regarding their importance in gaining patient compliance and in their uses in augmenting treatment protocols must be stressed among practitioners and administrators.

Case management: If their child is on Medicare Waiver they must pick a Case Manager that will support and advocate their child needs and wants. They will want to find a case manager that can be a voice for them when they can’t be.

We also learn that Mr. Taylor trusts his clinic and they help improve his health care experience. A nurse who was assigned to him took one hundred percent care of him. She gave full attention to him and kept his mind away from the pain and got to know him personally. Thus this indepth communications and care is a great facilitator.

The registered nurse (RN) is reviewing orders and completing the medication reconciliation (Med Rec) in the electronic Medical Record (EMR). Med Rec is a process for double checking medications, where the RN verifies that the details of the medications written on the provider's orders match those recorded in the medication administration record (MAR) used by the nurse. During the Med Rec process, several alarms/alerts go off.

I want to be part of the UW Premed Exec Team because I want to aid in its effort to make accurate information and worthwhile resources about medicine-related careers accessible to others also pursuing a career in medicine. Half the battle to actualizing a medical career is knowing what, when, where, how, and why, questions that are more so relevant today than ever before, considering the incredible rate at which the medical landscape is and will continue to transform. To mitigate some of the stress involved in pursuing such a career path – answering most of the what, when, where, how, and why -- I want to be at the forefront of medical education education.

Excellent presentation .On the other hand, as you mention nurse practitioner (NP) play an important role in patient health screening and supervision, wellness, health education and counseling. Moreover, for the patient education most NP used written patient education materials in alternate formats for patient education, such as audiotapes, videotapes, and computer software rarely used (Cafiero, 2013).What do you consider is the connotation of the NP curriculum and continuing education ?

Northwestern’s Problem Based Learning (PBL) curriculum is the primary factor influencing my decision to apply to the PA Program. I strongly believe that a PBL-centered format is the optimal way for me to learn how to practice medicine. Although many PA programs have adopted the PBL system, Northwestern is uniquely equipped to supplement its curriculum with resources such as the Simulation Technology and Immersive Learning Center (STIL Center). Additionally, the Program’s location and affiliations with several esteemed Chicagoland area clinical sites provides students with access to unparalleled clinical learning opportunities. This combination of unique and distinctive features offers an exceptional learning experience to Northwestern PA students. I would be very fortunate to participate in this experience.

The Healthcare information system (HIS) is a group of systems used to support and enhance healthcare e.g. Clinical information systems (CISs) ,Administrative information system .Nursing Information System (NIS). (WHO, 2016) These systems combined together provide a standardized nursing language for nurses because it provides a common pattern for all nurses in different locations. (Hebda, Czar & Mascara, 2005) These combinations can reduce a number of medically related errors and improve our health care system.
