After being honorably discharged, he went to college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. McNeil then continued on to attend the law school at Wake Forest University. He currently owns a law firm in Raleigh, NC. This is the first year McNeil is running for office. However, things seem to be going good for him, seeing as he won the North Carolina District 2 Democratic Primary with 46.1% of the votes.
