The main characters of the Catching Fire are Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. Other important characters include Gale Hawthorne, Haymitch Abernathy, and Finnick Odair.
• Katniss is a kind and brave individual as she is always thinking of ways to help her friends and willing to take risks. At the start of the novel, Katniss worries about Gale’s (her best friend) financial situation. She has “buckets of money, far more than enough to feed both [their] families now, and he won’t take a single coin.” (Collins, 5). To help Gale’s family, Katniss provides food for them, the only form of help they will accept, by hunting in the woods outside of district 12 even though it is an offense “punishable by death” (Collins, 9).
• Peeta is a likeable

Have you ever seen the movie THE HUNGER GAMES or read the book ? Well I have and this I going to compare and contrast using both book and movie . Catching Fire, book two of the Hunger Games Trilogy, is a novel about two victors, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. The author's message is about joining together to overcome the things that control us. The two victors were chosen for the previous annual hunger games, because of tribute Katniss' stunt with the poisonous berries. An act, that was supposedly an act of love, was seen as defiance towards the Capitol. This resulted in rebellion and attempted uprisings.
Any good story about trials and crisis needs a brave protagonist to represent the hope in every human being that they can be the hero of their own story. In Lord of the Flies, a boy named Ralph survives a plane crash onto a deserted island with other young boys, some only a little older than toddlers. Ralph becomes a leader despite his unwillingness, and when chaos is unleashed amongst the boys, Ralph attempts to keep everyone safe and keep their humanity in check. In The Hunger Games series, Katniss Everdeen is the protagonist who ignites a nation’s passion for justice after she bravely takes her sister’s place in a cruel game of survival run by the government to oppress the people. Katniss must fight her way through other “contestants” in order to survive, but when she beats the government at their own
This is made evident to the reader when Katniss says “I hate seeing him like this I have to go.” The use of internal monologue highlights and provides Katniss’s thought about Peeta. Thus it can be seen that Katniss is a helpful hero that has the courage to sacrifice her life for those in
In Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy, Katniss Everdeen is displayed as a somewhat consistent heroic character. Aristotle would have to agree that Katniss fits in his overall model of an ideal character. Katniss first begins her strong and determined stance at the day of the reaping with her famous line “I volunteer as tribute”, in attempt to save her sister from being forced to fight in the Hunger Games. Throughout the three books, Katniss continues to save people, however, she also loses many loved ones along the way which isn’t very consistent with her character. The first person that Katniss saves is her beloved sister, Primrose Everdeen.
Suzanne Collins, the author of both The Hunger Games & Catching Fire. The main theme of both stories that stuck out the most is Rebellion. Why you ask? Well let me explain. Throughout both of the stories, the state of Panem has been under constant rebellion both with major & minor acts of defiance.
She was then forced to become the supporter for her family, as her mother became extremely depressed (to the point that she was unfit to take care of Prin and Katniss) and as Prim was only 8 and had no hunting skills. As usual the Hunger Game contestants (one boy and one girl) are chosen at random an Prim's name is pulled. But Katniss, who knows of how weak Prim is, takes her place. As the book goes on Peeta, the boy who was picked as District 12's male competer, and Katniss are taken to the Capitol, where they are pampered in preparation for the games, which is televised.
Wikipedia, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, Sparknotes's articles about Harry Potter, all of them instantly a lie…remembering how Effie Trinket from in the novel Mockingjay had an empty look in her eyes while helping Katniss get ready for President Snow’s trial according to Katniss, I realize that I would react in the same manner if every piece of data in my mind was wrong. In the novel, Katniss Everdeen starts a revolution in her dystopian country, leading Effie Trinket to become a wanted outcast in her own society. And why wouldn’t she? Katniss not only destroyed the society (in this case, the Capitol) that raised her, but she smattered every mental aspect of Effie that was affected by the Capitol…which was basically everything. Reality never

After being put in front of the Hunger Games’ cameras, though, Katniss must craft a persona that will sell herself to the audiences at home. This transition doesn't only affect her, but also people around her such as her longtime friend Gale. “Our romance became a key strategy for our survival in the arena. Only it wasn't just a strategy for Peeta.
I think that the character Katniss Everdeen from the hunger games by Suzanne Collins and Julian from Wonder by R.J. Palacio have many differences, but I 'm going to find out the similarities between them such as being deceiving. The first reason why I think Julian is deceiving is because they act differently in front of different people the adults think that Julian is a great kid to have, but to the kids he is a bully and some people want nothing to do with him. This proves that julian is deceiving because he has gotten the adults to believe that he is the best, but in all reality he is not. And why I think Katniss is deceiving is for mostly the same reason but instead of acting different in front of people she acts different in front of the
The film "The Hunger Games" directed by Gary Ross is an amazing fictional story. An interesting character in the film is Katniss Everdene, the heroine of the film. However, there 's some of the part that I like and dislike in this movie. First of all, what I like in this film is the characters in The Hunger Games is very interesting.
In addition, in these literary works, and because they are narrations, there are some motifs – which are different in each story but relevant in both – that are used to “guide readers through the text.” (Henthorne, 27). In THE HUNGER GAMES there are so many of them and some become very important in the development of the characters and the story in the whole trilogy like the songs and the mockingjay, but it is out of the scope of this dissertation and I will not go deeper on them. However I will be focus on the food and the importance that it has in the whole story of Katniss like readers could discover in different stages of the book.
