Bullying is a form of intimidation using strength or influence. This is done to get someone to do what one wants them to do. It is believed that bullying behavior is often repeated and habitual. The top three types of bullying include verbal bullying, cyber bullying and physical bullying.
Verbal Bullying is known to be one of the simple forms of bullying. Even though simple, it can start at a very young age and can be hurtful to the victim. This type of bullying can seem commonplace for parents but can be devastating to younger children.
Cyber Bullying has been brought about by way of internet and cell phones. These attacks are presented online and can be missed by parents. Cyber bullying can be hard to detect. One way to detect is to watch your child’s behavior and watch the time he/she spends on the computer and social media.

It is no question that schools should be held accountable for bullying. They should ensure a zero tolerance is bound in their school handbook. Schools also have a legal obligation to protect students, not only from student bullying but from their own faculty and staff. When the school is notified of bullying behavior, they must take immediate action to stop the behavior and prevent it from happening again. If the school does not handle the reported bullying appropriately, they put themselves in the position for potential liability and legal action. We think that it is the schools and parents place to stop bullying. If the school confronts it but the parents don’t, their child will think it’s ok to bully other kids at home instead of at school. When people witness bullying they should stand up for the kid getting bullied and make the bully stop.
Bullying is a major issue facing today’s youth. Over the course of the past few years bullying has become such a concern that many states have adopted laws against it. However, the issue evolves as time goes on and now cyber bullying exists. Cyber bullies can insult others over the internet with no need to be nearby the person they are insulting.
