Human Trafficking is an illegal activity that hampers the way we live our lives. The activity is done in many possible ways, and there are many causes that influences this act dealing with the perpetrator and the victim, as well as many solutions that can stop the act.

Human Trafficking in simple terms is the buying and selling of human beings, that are taken for abuse and exploitation purposes. It can be done within a country, but it is mostly done by crossing borders, so that the victims cannot run away home (Stearman, 2011, p.4). The act is illegal and the victims, whom are trafficked, are not chosen voluntarily. The victims are hoodwinked in to the act and are taken against their will. The traffickers promise them good Jobs and Education, but instead they find themselves working as domestic servants, slaves and sex workers. (Stearman, 2011, p.5).

There are two reasons why groups of individuals turn to human trafficking. They gain money in large sums from this illegal act, most of the perpetrators come from poor backgrounds, looking for means to make money. They also get sexual pleasure from their victims. (Bezuidenhout, 2013, p.273)
