The phenomenon of climate change on Earth We all know that climate change is becoming more complex today. Scientists say human beings are one of the major contributors to global warming, causing the greenhouse effect. Earth Climate Change is a change of climate system including atmospheric, hydrosphere, biosphere, current and future lithosphere by natural and artificial causes in a certain period of magnetism. By decade or millions of years. The change may be to change the average weather or change the distribution of weather events around an average.
Then how is it different from global warming? In other words, global warming could be actually defined as an “enhanced greenhouse effect” because it is caused due to an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere(www.environment.gov/au). When the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere increases, the rate of the greenhouse effect also increases resulting in an increased trapping of heat causing an increase in the average temperature of the atmosphere. This problem is turning out to be a cause of concern because “the global average surface temperature rose 0.6 to 0.9 degrees Celsius (1.1 to 1.6° F) between 1906 and 2005, and the rate of temperature increase has nearly doubled in the last 50 years” as shown by a study at NASA(www.earthobservatory.nasa.gov). If this trend goes further, it could even result in the end of the world.
In 2014- IPCC release new report on Climate change, this report says that human activities are the dominant (95%) cause of the climate change. In this report human influence on climate is clear, the emission of greenhouse gases continue inc. 1983 to 2012 was the warmest 30 year off the last 1400 years. Fig- Greenhouse gases concentration IPCC report says that according to a series of emission scenarios, global temperature is projected to increase by about 0.2°C per decade. Causes of Increasing amount Greenhouse gases- • Burning fossil fuels in Thermal Power Plant • Chemical and Petrochemical Industries • Deforestation • Commercial Buildings • Road transport • Cement, Ceramic and Glass Production • Livestock
Humans do things that create carbon dioxide which is one of the greenhouse gases that cause the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is when gases like carbon dioxide become trapped in the atmosphere and trap incoming solar energy. That solar energy is then redirected in all directions thus, warming the entire planet and causing what we know as global warming. Global warming is a heating up all parts of the planet causing global climate changes. “A major international assessment of climate change…provides conclusive new scientific evidence that human activities are causing unprecedented changes in the Earth’s climate.” (IPCC Confirms, 2013).
Climate change is the change in climatic patterns, which is dated from the mid to 20th century. For over decades we have faced climate change in our lives. Climate change is thought as a negative factor but like everything it has its advantages. Climate change has been a debatable topic for very long as it effect a country in various ways such an economically and politically. Global perspectives- 1) Uganda- A project planned, which is now in action, to benefit everyone by reforesting the Mount Elgon national park because of the increase in carbon dioxide.
Global warming To blame people or not to blame people for global warming, that’s the question. Global warming is an raise in temperature over the whole world. Report has said, eleven out of the last twelve years have ranked amongst the hottest on record. CNN has said that temperature changes have been see over the last fifty years, as result to human actions. Scientists have forecasted that the temperature will raise 1.8 to four degrees Celsius.
The global average temperature increased by about 0.8°C from 2005, but the current warming trend is 0.13 – 0.16 °C per decade, and it is projected to continue to rise at a rapid rate (Hansen et al.2010). The effect of the activities of man especially in technologically advanced nations, has brought about emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases which has resulted in the depletion of the ozone layer and global warming (Hegerl et al., 1997; Tett et al., 1999, 2002; Stott et al., 2000).These can be seen from the changes in meteorological parameters such as temperature and precipitation. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) likewise agreed to this, that the varying greenhouse gas concentrations were more to be the major cause of climate change (Climate Change 2001: The Scientific Basis—Contribution of Working Group I to the Third Assessment Report of IPCC, 2001). However, climate change pose as a great threat to biodiversity, the ecosystems, economic growth, global food security, life as a whole and encourages inequality (Kurnik, 2015 - for IPCC). In view of this effect of climate change, it is of necessity to project and observe
Global warming is when the average temperature of the atmosphere, ocean, and land is increasing. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Since 1800s, the average temperature worldwide has increased. The average temperature of the earth has risen up until 0.8 degrees Celsius. Within 100 years in the future, they expected the temperature will keep rising by 1.133 to 6.42 degrees Celsius. In 1896, Svante Arrhenius, a scientist said that burn fossil fuel can increase the global warming.
1.0 Introduction Global warming is the average of global temperature had increased at the fastest rate in the recorded history in this past 50 years Now, global warming is a bigger problem for the earth. The initial cause of global warming is the carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth's surface. The gases trap the heat and make the planet hotter (MacMillan 2016). Global Warming has brought a lot of effect like sea level rise, extreme weather and disruption of habitats. The aim of this research is to find the matter to prevent global warming by the government.
