It is this paper’s contention that the American Revolution was a result of social, economic and political issues. This paper will also argue that the problems faced by the colonies overlapped with one another causing effects of the American Revolution to be amplified.
Firstly, the American Revolution was a 18th century war between the Thirteen colonies and Great Britain, because British taxed America without their permission. There were many

The Boston Tea Party believed themselves to be the Son of Liberty, which was a label adopted by patriots in the thirteen colonies before the American Revolution, who dressed up like Native Americans and threw 342 wooden boxes of tea from the East India Company ships into the Boston Harbor. The tea act did not add any more tax to the tea, however it backfired, because a lot of Americans earned their living from smuggling. This act united the thirteen colonies even more in their frustrations against British government and it was one of the many social causes that lead to the American …show more content…
While Pennsylvanians objected in principle to “Stamp” taxes and duties on luxury items as much as people in other colonies, they were harder pressed to see harm in the new imperial revenue measures when they considered the profits they were making. Those owned by patriot farmers provided flour for the Continental Army. The mill lay within three miles of the Battle of Brandywine, which was a battle of the Philadelphia campaign of the American Revolutionary War fought on September 11, 1777.The patriot cause were the iron forges, furnaces, and plantations that provided muskets, shot, and cannon for Washington’s army. Critical to the economic infrastructure of Pennsylvania, these ironworks were fiercely contested during the
In 1773, colonists in Boston protested the taxation policies of England, which they felt violated their right to “no taxation without representation.” This tea party was a factor leading to the Revolutionary War (“Boston Tea Party Facts”). In 1768, colonists consumed almost two million pounds of tea - the three million inhabitants of the American colonies were consuming on average of two to three cups everyday. The Boston Tea Party was a direct protest by colonists, members of the Sons of Liberty, against the Tea Tax that had been imposed by the British Government. The tea tax protests resulted in the smuggling of cheaper, non-British tea and boycotts of British tea through Nonimportation Agreements.
It was an outcome of the Tea Act imposed by British Parliament to restore the East India Company's full refund on the 25% duty imposed for importing tea into Britain. It also permitted the company to export tea to the American colonies on its own account and led to a number of protests from the colonies. On December 16, 1773, a group of colonists boarded the three shiploads of taxed tea in Boston and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The event became famously known as the Boston Tea
The American Revolution was a war fought by American colonies to gain independence from the British control. The American Revolution was caused by a series of events. It all started with the French and Indian War in 1754. At the end of the war, King George III issued the proclamation of 1763 which prohibited colonists to settle beyond the Appalachian Mountains, many colonists took great offense at this order. The war between Britain and France caused Britain to be deeply in debt and demanded tax from the colonies.
It is our opinion that the event that most significant role in causing the revolutionary war was the French and Indian war because, during our research we found that the French and Indian war was the cause of a American revolution because of disputes over subsequent frontier policy and paying the war’s expenses led to colonial discontent. There was more causes than just the French and Indian war it was all the taxes from the stamp act as well as the sugar act that put a large amount of taxes that the british tried to collect taxes that the american people considered harsh, and what led to the revolutionary war. The cause of the sugar act is protests against the sugar Act developed it was the economic impact rather the constitutional issue
The American Revolution was an uprising that arose from the rejection of British colonial rule and an ardent desire for independence. Although this event did not begin until 1765, there we many political, economic, and ideological disagreements that set the stage for the commencement of the American Revolution. Significantly, the Seven Years' War fought between the British and the French with the aid of Native American allies was an event that ended in the British imposing higher taxes on the colonies in order to eliminate their national debt. Subsequently, reforms such as the Sugar Act, the Stamp Act, Townshend Act, and the Tea Act which the British Parliament passed allowed them to collect taxes from the colonies to raise money for the Crown.
The British felt it was the right way to get out of the debt from ongoing wars with French. Several acts such as the Sugar Act and Stamp act were levied to because they felt america should “pay” since they received benefits from the victory, but the acts didn 't last and then were later repealed. In reprisal of the taxes the colonies produced a showdown known as The Boston Tea Party. A group of american colonists disguised as Native Americans threw over 300 trunks cargo from the british tea ships into the boston harbor. This resulted in the Quartering Act which required american colonists to provide food and housing for British soldiers at the colonies’ expense.
Since America won the war, they gained religious and economic freedom. The Americans were able to make their own laws and start a new government. This research paper is about the Revolutionary War and how it started. In 1774, tension grew between the British and American colonies. The Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and the Townshend Acts, which English Parliament passed, made the colonists mad.
When the British won the war they established an act called the Proclamation of 1763. This act didn 't allow colonists to travel over the Appalachian mountains. The British did this because they didn 't have the ability to protect colonists over the mountains where there were Indian uprising. This angered the colonists and was one of the many things that caused the American Revolution.
The British were taxing the colonists on tea. Even though the tax wasn’t very expensive, the tax went to the British and did not help the colonists. When the colonists found out they protested. Consequently, they protested by dumping 340 tea chests into Boston Harbor. The amount of tea ruined was about 1 million of today's dollars worth.
This new identity initially caused early revolts against Britain for their unfair treatment, creating negative feelings toward the British government. One of theses revolts that was caused by the rise of a new identity was the Boston Tea Party, a direct result of the Tea Act which placed a heavy tax on tea which the colonists believed was unfair. During the Boston Tea Party, more than 100 men disguised as Mohawks boarded a British ship and dumped 45 tons of tea into the harbor. The British government responded with the Intolerable Act, and with this act tensions rose with many colonists demanding better rights. Soon, the colonists realized that they no longer wanted to be under British rule which they believed was tyrannical, oppressive, and unfair; thereby leading to the largest and most influential cause of the rise of a national American identity: the American Revolution itself.
The Revolutionary War had many causes and was very complicated since it was slowly drawn out over many years before war was officially declared. America and England had been in conflict for many years before the war started, which contributes to why there are a vast number of causes. Until the war began, many were very opposed to the thought of war, but Britain’s actions slowly changed the minds of the people. Assumed British control and exaggerated military aggression over the colonies after over one hundred years of freedom while the British did not govern them sparked belief in independence from the king and a new strive for Liberty. The combination of Taxation without real representation, British Military aggression, and the aftermath
