Social fragmentation is very much present in today’s society and can lead to massive cultural and societal erosion. According to Booker (2012), “The world you see outside of you is a reflection of what you have inside of you.”The lack of equity within the nation, civil societies, communities, institutions, schools and even the household is seriously increasing social fragmentation. With social cohesion declining, this will increase the rates of social exclusion. Resulting in the less fortunate not benefiting from new opportunities created within the economy; thus leading to increased corruption, crime and lawlessness. In most cases the poor looses trust within the systems of the country whether economic, social or educational, they may even loose trust in serving the community and even result in the inability of families to cooperate with another.
Now, realize that people in the world, people you probably are close to, physically and emotionally go through these isolations and discrimination attacks everyday all because they 're different. Discrimination is a very evil and dangerous way to look at people in the world, it 's not just dangerous for the people being hated on, it 's also dangerous for the people doing the hating because what might happen after the wrong person is hated the wrong way. People come in all different shapes and sizes, it 's who they are, they are people and they are different. Unfortunately, there
Aggression is brought about by frustration among a group of people. An aggressive behavior depicts the availability of frustration (Donallard, 1939). When people feel miserable and oppressed they are then inspired by all types of civil unrest and insurgent. The rebels i.e. the terrorists are not allowed to hold rallies make speeches and print newspapers.
First of all, we can see how the harshness of living conditions and the personal feelings can quickly demoralize a society as the situation cannot be controlled by anyone. The quest for personal power becomes the logic by which situations are judged and the ethical ramifications are often ignored all together. Next, leaders who operate under the guidance of darkness are quick to justify that their action are acting on behalf of those unable to make their own decisions. In reality, selfish interests often guide their decisions. In addition, a lack of morals and values respecting life and liberty, like those present in the RUF camps progresses to chaos and unethical actions.
After evaluating Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng, Hear Me Now by Sophal Leng Stagg, and The Three Boxes by an unknown author. Each of these stories follow specific individuals in an environment different from their own culture and explains the difficulties and struggles they encounter. Living in a setting where you are out of place promotes an inability to acclimate therefore potentially making new people feel a loss of their cultural identity, encourages isolation, loneliness, and, in a lot of cases, prejudice. This behavior is exacerbated by xenophobia. Discrimination is a root cause of unrest for people in a cultural, class, or religious setting other than their own.
Alienation in life All of us, especially in recent years we can see, it is perhaps better to say, we feel the changes in society, not only on the material plane, but also on socio-emotional. The fight for survival or horrible ambition and desire for power, however, it led people in some strange, I can say, disturbed relationships. Alienation is the feeling of not belonging and that no one cares about you. The needs that people need like food, shelter, and water are not all person needs, we as people have a deep need for community and with alienation pushing people into diverse group. There are a lot more neglected relationships that should be based on respect, helping, having fun and there are more frequent superficial interests, connections that break easily once they no longer are needed.
beings. The unbridled and uncontested march of science and technology has resulted in a society with a dilapidated spiritual side and has snatched away finest sensibilities that are holding considerable thoughts in our hearts. In order to undo the damage that has been done because of the resultant declining of values in our society, a value-based approach must form the backbone of educational system in general and the teacher education in particular. Today, umpteen problems of tectonic promotions are looming large at the society and are challenging its very existence the days to come. The threats to the civil society constitute terrorism, poverty, population explosion etc which are eating into the vitals of the system.
The Violation of human rights is in many forms. But the most common forms are Human Trafficking, Forced Labour, Sexual Harassment, Illegal Detention etc. And these rights get violated due to wars, terrorism and other new forms of illegalities. The communalism and caste discrimination certainly add to human rights violation at the social level. The violation of Human Rights leads to disturbance in the society making it ever more volatile for future violence.
Weak states are those that either do not, or cannot, provide human security. Moreover, this very weakness may lead political elites into a vicious cycle that further weakens their security and that of their people. In an attempt to increase their own security, governing elites amass the trappings of power, by investing heavily in military hardware or using repressive tactics. But diversion of money away from their people’s needs or massive repression (although sometimes effective in the short term) tends to lead (a typical example is the current case of Dasuki and armed deal struggle of the Buhari administration) in the long term to greater discontent among the populace and increased vulnerability for the elite. Hence, theBenue State Assembly considered it necessary, having the political will, boldness, demonstrated courage, and determination to introduce the Anti-Open Grazing and Establishment of Ranches Bill which enjoyed accelerated legislative attention and massive support from within and outside the state. This was in effort to bring lasting peace between farmers and herders topromote peace, security, economic development and national unity in the
In addition to it, criminalization of politics has declined the culture of politics directly giving scope for malpractices and non-disclosure of funding and donations. First-past-the-post system (FPTP) has also added to decline in political culture. In a plural society, majoritarianism has suppressed various minority groups like Dalits. In FPTP system, there is desperation to win the seat by either fair or foul means leading to dreadful practices performed by the parties so as to somehow become acceptable in the quest for success in elections. The FPTP model has resulted into polling irregularities, buying of votes and into high election expenditure.
