In terms of definition, Human trafficking is modern-day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. The largest Human trafficking problems are forced labour, abduction and abuse of child, illegal migration, prostitution, people and drug smuggling and trafficking of tissue, cells and organs of human being. Human trafficking has truly become a global threat to vulnerable men, women, and children worldwide. It is a dirty deal that affects millions of people every year on every continent and at all socioeconomic levels. In Pakistan most uncertain issues of human trafficking are abduction and abuse of child, illegal migration with forced labour, prostitution.
Human trafficking, or trafficking in persons (TIP) or modern day slavery, is a heinous and widespread crime occurring around the world in nearly every society. Most people often thought slavery was part of the past; however, human slavery is part of our current society and has been an on-going issue around the world. Human trafficking is a type of slavery that involves forced or bonded labour, sexual servitude, child labour, or involuntary servitude all over the world. It is important to note that sex trafficking contributes to more than half of human trafficking and most of these victims are women and young girls. Human trafficking has an immensely negative effect on the psychological, and mental state apart from the social status. The women and children who are trafficked have extremely different experience feeling imprisoned, assaulted upon and exploited. They always live in a fear of harm to themselves as well as their families. There are several health symptoms related to human trafficking which include fatigue, weight loss, neurological symptoms like headaches, gastro interstinal problems, cardiovascular symptoms, musculoskeletal symptoms. The most prevalent and the most dangerous in this industry of trafficking are reproductive health problems like unwanted pregnancy and loss in fertility.
Before researching about this topic, I actually knew that slavery and human trafficking did exist. However I had no idea it was such a big issue. Learning about this topic makes me heartbroken as there are innocent people and even girls like me trafficked and forced into slavery. Happening right now all around the world. Millions are suffering from the depravity and immorality of people.
Thousands of people are murdered throughout the year because of this dangerous business. (Figure 1) Many people who decide to go against the cartel, or not help them often become the victims. Figure 1-Homocide Victims (Source: MexicoDailyNews 2016) The government and government officials have tried many times to take control of this growing industry, but it has gotten far out of control. It is far beyond their control.
Human trafficking is a global multi-billion dollar industry, targeting those who are vulnerable. Based on the simple economics of supply and demand, it is becoming the world’s biggest crime issue, and therefore the efforts to prevent these unethical actions need to be more effective. Reason 1: Human trafficking is a global phenomenon that consists of sex or organ trafficking and slave labor. Trafficking humans is the illegal trade or sale of human beings for sexual exploitation or forced labor through the use of abduction, threats, force, deception and fraud, regardless of the victim’s gender, race or age. Reason 2: The root causes of trafficking are numerous and often vary from one country to another.
Women are denied human rights from the framework to the grave.. In India the situation leaves much to be desired. Sexual abuse and flesh trade are distressing evils, which threaten the existence of women as independent units. Dowry is the greatest crime against women. Huge dowries are still demanded even when the girl can increase the man’s income.
From these many people linked their arms together to as a defense mechanism to show the soldiers that their bond was strong. Many more were injured in the process, causing 700 people to be accordingly seriously injured during this massacre. From this one can from inferring that during in the Industrial Revolution, many conflicts arose because of the bystanders that were set between the citizens categorizing them from the lower-class to upper-class. Most of the conflicts arose in the lower- class since they had to endure much discrimination from living in homes that were too dirty to even live in and the working conditions and wages. Eventually, both classes need the same things which, the technology that is used today and the massacres that happened was waking that helped many see what was truly wrong with the
Many women from third world countries are lured into this trade with the bait of false marriages or false jobs. Many of the victims are forced with violence or indirectly with psychological blackmail into the sex trade. Human trafficking is the worst form of abuse that can be inflicted on an individual. A trafficked human being suffers from mental, and physical abuse, leaving them with lifelong mental illnesses. Many women dream of a better life and are willing to travel across the globe to better their lives.
Sex trafficking, forced labour and debt bondage are the three most common types of human trafficking occurring on a global scale. There are approximately 20-30 million slaves in the world today with approximately 600,000- 800,000 trafficked across international borders each year. Sex traffickers use violence, threats and lies to compel both adults and children to engage in sexual activities against their will. Forced labour is the most common form of human trafficking and refers to situations in which people are forced to work due to violence, accumulated debt or threats of denunciation to immigration. Debt bondage refers to a person’s pledge of labour for the repayment of their debt although the debt may be undefined or the duration
