The Main Causes of Differences in Leadership in Vietnam and USA. National culture of Vietnam and USA is a major cause of difference in their leadership styles. The Vietnam has cultural elements like Confucian ideology, Legalism, Taoism, family concept and guanxi phenomena, and centralized government. Confucianism is deeply rooted in Vietnamese contributing to reasons of Vietnam executives being detail driven and reluctant to people viewpoints and ideas. Confucianism pervades every aspect of Vietnamese with values of perseverance and collectivism. Harmony viewed as foundation of stability and prosperity of society and the country. Both leaders become unsuccessful in American companies when they fail to meet the business targets and expected performance results.
