College is expensive, and the costs keep getting higher and more impossible to pay things every year. (The value of education, 42). Lastly, Every year, students find it hard to pay a lot of important needs when also paying for college. When people pay things like this they can’t afford it, they can’t buy other things, and they most likely can’t do what they want to
Many no longer go to college, not because they don’t want to but, because they can’t afford to. A countless number of people in the United States would like to provide the future generations with free college. People are starting to realize that students do not pursue secondary education because they are to overwhelmed with trying to figure out how they are going to pay for it. The public recognizes that high school student end their education with a high school diploma because they see how much debt college students rack up. With this knowledge it has lead to proposals for free college.
This would be an understandable reason to not continue college, but is very specific to certain people or families. Another personal case of why an individual would drop out is college is it is just not the right fit for their life. College does teach valuable life skills and provides an advanced education for those who need it, yet some professions do not require a degree. If a student is not getting valuable instruction for what they want to do, it would be the smart thing to back out and peruse an apprenticeship for example. Careers such as plumbing, welding, electricians, cosmetics, etc do not need a four-year degree.
There are also some reasons why going to college may not be a good plan after high school. Some students might not have prepared well enough to go to college while they were in high school (www.blog.prepscholar.com). They may have scored low on the ACT which will lead to college costing too much. Some people wait too long to try to get financial aid and then have to come out of pocket to pay for it. If you do have to borrow money for college, the debt lasts a very long time.
Why People Should Not Go to College People should not go to college because is difficult to find out what career choice as a result of the inexperience and little information, the potential loans are overwhelming, and the huge necessity to start working immediately after school. In fact, many high school students go to college because it is expected of them, but that is not a good reason to go. If the students are facing pressure from their parents, friends, or teachers to attend college, but they do not feel ready. A person who wants to attend college should not take on such a large financial and time commitment just to please other people. College is expensive, and it does not make sense to spend money on a college degree if they are unsure of their path.

You just became a young parent and there are a lot of things to do. Many kids in college are making unhealthy choices that are very time consuming. This makes it harder to attend class and be ready to learn. This would be a main reason why people are failing in college.

Students simply do not understand the statistics which show that over time, the income of people with a college degree is rising while the income of people without a college degree is actually falling.

Americans should go to college because they will make more money, and mature mentally - making life easier for them.
North Carolinians graduate students mostly choose to stay closer to their hometown and in North Carolina for college. But why? In state tuition is much cheaper than out of state tuition. An article states, each state has its own “public” institutions that are run and funded by the state. Funding for these schools comes from the state residents in the form of taxes.
Many people dream of a life filled with riches, but that dream is hard to obtain without a college degree. It is somewhat ironic how people dream of being a successful student and going to college but the cost of tuition turns that dream into a horrible nightmare.
