Sleep is extremely important for everyone 's physical and mental health. Sleep aids the healing and repairing process of the heart and blood vessels, and the correct amount of sleep has many other positive impacts on someone 's health. Even though sleep is so very crucial for everyone 's health, millions of people suffer from a lack of sleep or sleep deprivation.
Sleep deprivation can be caused by copious amounts of things, but the main cause of sleep deprivation is simply staying up too late. Many reasons can impact why someone may be inclined to stay up later than healthy. Kids and teenagers typically have an ample amount of sleepovers which can change there sleep patterns. Usually tenagers are out late with there friends while kids attempt to stay up all night. The next morning, after everyone goes home, the kids and teenagers tend to sleep all day and are then unable to fall asleep that night. From the one sleepover a long process of trying to catch up on sleep begins. It can also be difficult to fall asleep if someone is excited or nervous for something to happen. Caffeine and sugar can be hard on someone 's sleep pattern as well, especially consuming caffeine and sugar close to bedtime. Being sick can make it difficult to fall asleep, and inadequate sleep only makes someone more sick. Someone 's body having to function on a low amount of sleep can affect the person 's immune system, draining it and making it weak, and a weak immune system makes people more susceptible to become sick and catch things like the common cold. No sleep also makes the recovery process take longer than it should. Many different medical problems can affect your sleep as well. Stress and anxiety about work, school, friends, or about anything can be damaging to someone 's sleep schedule.
