Teenage pregnancy is on the rise and it affects everyone. The children of teenage mothers are more likely to have lower school achievement. Teens have a higher risk of preterm birth. Teenage pregnancy can cause a lot of changes such as social problems, personal problems, and choice making. Most teenage girls do not plan to get pregnant, but many do. Often teens do not prenatal care soon enough, which lead to problems later. Parenthood is the leading reason that teenage girls drop out of school. Teenage pregnancy is a major problem changing our world. Teenage girls within the age 13-19 are becoming pregnant. Teens drop out of school because they are pregnant. They are scared their peers will judge them. Some teenage parents should get a job to provide for they family and work a lot of hours and don’t have time for school. Pregnancy can involve a lot of health problems for the mother and the baby. Teens may not have family members to watch the child and are not supportive enough to take care of the child or have free time. Teens getting support by the parents can be hard at first because they lost all the trust they had for you. Teens must do whatever it takes to earn back their parents trust during their pregnancy. In fact, some teens may feel like they failed they parents or their parents gave up on them because they are having a child. Meanwhile teens need every support they can get from friends and family. Pregnant teenager’s friends will change on them because their parents do not want their child to be friends with someone who is pregnant and get that thought into their head. Most teenagers have been sexually active by the time they graduate high school. In 2009, forty-six percent of high school students reported having had sexual intercourse. Contraceptives, such as condoms and the oral birth control pill, prevent pregnancy and protect against sexually transmitted diseases. We will discuss the positive and negative effects of birth control for teens using the need for birth control, effects of birth control, and the teen mom dropouts to show how necessary birth control is.
Abortion is in fact the ending of pregnancy before birth and refers to the destruction of the embryo or foetus prior to life by removing the fetus in the uterus. An abortion can be either occurs naturally, that is due to an accident, disease, trauma or genetic incompatibility of the mother and foetus. Or, it can occur artificially, that is the foetus is removed by medical means or in the backstreet by unqualified people known as charlatans. Such risky abortions often result in septicaemia. Abortion is a major problem affecting most couples especially when contraceptives are ineffective.

Families can have that big effect on them because it they came from a religious family they will have a different output on the pregnancy. Which usually that live in a religious homes do try to act out to show that they just want to be independent. religion can make the teenager homeless because the family will not deal with that kind of behavior which can make it difficult for the teen to cope with. However, this does have the sexual norms that the acceptance of premarital sex. Premarital sex does go against almost every religion because its sex before marriage and in religious homes they want there teenagers to not have sex until their married.
Schools are more influence than other places on teens. “Schools are an important site of influence on teens’ sexual behaviors, more so than neighborhoods” (Mollborn). This is how important schools are in the life of teenager. Also, how important education is. Therefore, teens that become pregnant are not properly prepared for motherhood.

Most teenagers do not have enough information on sexuality and contraceptives. Teenagers engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse lead to unwanted teenage pregnancy which is a serious social and health problem. The life of a teenager is not always as easy as it seems, especially when your parents are at your bag all the time, worrying if you are verbally abusing, disrespectful, unprotected, taking bad decisions or depressed. Rachel Cusk who is an author of novels and books of non-fiction wrote the article Mothers and teenagers: a modern tragedy in The Times on April 5, 2015. In the article, she discusses the relationship between parents and teenagers in her point of view. She got two daughters and she is very aware of how "hard" the teenage life is and the transformation from child to adult. But are teenagers really such a nightmare, as other parents think?

Family crisis has caused the social control in children to be neglected. Parents who often argued will not be able to nurture and educate their children properly. This situation becomes worst when the parents are busy with the tasks at office until they ignore their responsibilities to watch over their children’s behavior. Social problems among teenagers become an increasingly worrying phenomenon that teenagers go through such as early pregnancy, suicidal and drug abuse. However, there are many helpful organizations trying to overcome the social problems among teenagers.
