The colonies also called for a continental congress, in the first meeting they made decisions basically defending themselves from anything Britain could possibly throw at them: military preparations in case the British in Boston chose to attack, boycotting in hopes of abolishing trade with Great Britain, rejecting a colonial union under British control, the basically wanted nothing to do with Great Britain because Britain abused their power over the colonists to begin with. The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the official turning point for the colonists, they had colonists prepared with guns, minutemen, that were ready to fight at a seconds notice and they kept close eyes on Boston just in case the British chose to attack. William Dawes and Paul Revere were keeping watch for any British movement. When the British came the colonists were ready and by the end of the battle the British had lost many of their troops in this revolutionary war. This war was definitely the beginning of the fight for independence for the colonists, thy showed the British that they could stand up for themselves and that they deserved better treatment.

Locke’s ideas have given Frenchmen the courage to fight against the strict government. During the reign of Louis XIV, nobles’ power was strictly limited. By making the nobles live in Versailles, Louis could easily watch over his nobles. Later, Louis XVI took over the throne. He raised taxes then spent the money in whatever way he pleased (Doc 5).
A goal of the French Revolution was that the third estate became eager to have an actual leader that would pay attention to their needs so they because the National Assembly and agreed on the tennis court oath. They also wanted to create a new government but king Louis XVI wouldn’t sign it off so the National Assembly got mad and they overthrew the bastille. The bastille was a jail where all the prisoners were being kept. The third estate created the Declaration of the rights of man and of the citizen to express these goals. The goal of the American Revolution was to get away from the British government and be free.
Forced Founder’s, written by Woody Holton, sheds new light on one of the best-known events in American History. Holton challenges the traditional narrative of the great land-owning elite leading the revolutionary war. He does not believe it was one single factor but in fact, a web of influences that pushed Virginia into the war of independence. Holton’s main argument consists of the idea that the Indians, merchants, slaves, and debtors helped propel free Virginians into the independence movement. Virginia’s gentry were joining their peers in declaring independence from Britain in response to grassroots rebellions against their own rule.
Most of the levied taxes and implemented laws are believed that they were unconstitutional and that Great Britain did not consider their opinions. As the tension between the British and the American colonists grows, the colonists become more fearful of the British’s rule. According to document five, the British has a huge advantage over the colonists because it states that they have the authority to make laws that the colonists must abide by at all costs. The colonists believe that there are only two choices to defend them - the colonists- from the enormous power: “choosing an unconditional submission to the tyranny of irritated [British officials], or resistance by force” (Document five). According to document four, the colonists were that they will become slaves to the British.
The American Revolution emerged due to increased tensions between the American Colonists and the British government during the colonist’s growing desire for Independence. As a result of the Revolution, documents outlining an independent government were shaped. The first being the Articles of Confederation followed by the Constitution. The second amendment of the Constitution of the United States was of particular importance and necessity during the Revolutionary era due to its significance in the Militia, the people’s need to protect themselves, and as assurance that colonists received the necessary freedoms they fought to achieve.

The settlers in the colonies started to gathering ideas to create their own nation and stop being ruled by the British Government. The problem with pure democracy was that people were not treated equal and the government was abusing of its power, and the colonists wanted a solution to that problem. The Declaration of Independence took place in Philadelphia. Fifty-six delegates from the thirteen colonies gathered for the Second Continental Congress they were seeking a solution for the similar problem they had in the colonies. Our founding fathers signed the United States Declaration of Independence.
In the late 1770s the Thirteen Colonies of Britain wanted to separate and form their own nation. On July 4, 1776 they signed a declaration this was the Declaration of Independence declaring these colonies a new independent nation. Although some critics argue that the revolution had meager affects, the war actually revolutionized The United States of America which is evident by the greater equality for the social classes, the increase in equality for the minorities, and the creation of a republic.
Why did the American Revolution happen? Well, I could talk about it now or I could just start from the very beginning. I am just going to start when the colonists left for the new world. It all started with the way the king ruled Great Britain . The colonists did not like the way he ruled, with high taxes and forcing them on one religion.
These war begun between Great Britain and the 13 united British colonies on the United States. However, this war ended in a global war between European powers. This war was the bomb of the American Revolution where the colonists do not want the rights of the Great Britain in governing them without any representation. In 1775, revolutionaries had gained control of the thirteen colonial governments. They set up the Second Continental Congress and formed a Continental Army.
In 2011 many countries in the Middle East rose up and revolted against their oppressive authoritarian leaders. The citizens in these countries wanted the rights and freedoms they had been denied when the dictators were in power. The governments in these countries had far too much power and the there was nothing to keep them from abusing their power. When the citizens had far too few rights and there were laws in place to keep them from doing anything about it.

Unfortunately, the British king didn’t respond well, so the colonists met for a second Continental Congress, in which they were more assertive and decided that it was time for a revolutionary war. They chose five men, namely Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin and Robert Livingston, to draft the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This document stated their reasons for wanting to be freed from the British.
