For preventing the lack of economic opportunity and unemployment and making society equitable by eradicating the problem of wealth disparity
Many people of the developing nations of the world are struggling to have enough to eat, to sleep, to live a life without discomfort, pain and anxiety, not knowing how and when they may exit the cycle of poverty. People who live in the great world cities of the world live a life of luxury and indulgence, as they have jobs of high-importance and are, therefore, paid accordingly. Their children are brought into their lavish lifestyle and are given many opportunities to work in good jobs. In contrast, the children of developing nations are forced to work for their parents in order to gain the little money

If the world had one central agency/government/business that everyone abided by and listened to, the world can be manipulated to increase equality between people. If all wealth was accumulated throughout the agency, there would be no problem of inequalities between people, in not only wealth, but ethnic, religious and nationalistic forms would be eradicated to make way for one homogenised, perfect culture. The distribution of jobs will occur through the assessment of one’s intellectual capacity. A series of tests will be conducted at the age of ten, for example, a test on each subject the students study at school, and the results will be compared throughout the rest of the world. Some jobs require more different traits than others although, there is a main trend pattern that jobs requiring more problem solving and intellectual ability will need the smart children to be doing the work. It is not a case of how much you enjoy the job, it is a case of how well a child can do the …show more content…
The smarter individuals will be selected to do medicine, law and economics subjects will the less smart (useless) individuals will be sent into slavery to do the hard work of the far more talented people of this world. Say we take a population size of 100,000 children of age 10. The top 10% would do medicine, law, next 20% would do engineering and science, and the next 20% would do education and humanities. The remaining half will be assigned to one of the higher-achieving people to be their slave and do the unnecessary work which takes up the time they need to reach their potential. Income allocation will therefore not depend on opportunities, it will depend on intellectual ability, meaning that they will be assigned wages according to the ‘the rank of intellectual prowess’ of jobs, and the slaves will work hard for the rest of their life, working for a better tomorrow where the central agency will benefit from the work of every individual and there would be no problems of social, religious, racial or wealth inequalities, only the inequality of intellectual ability, which is integral to creating a better, more efficient society of
Wealth, race, gender, and mental illness has torn society apart and lead to inequality. These major reasons for inequality has affected everyone in its path leading to major consequences as well as issues and problems. In China, a new found wealth has left the social classes more divided and issues are beginning to rise. Meanwhile in the U.S., wealth is destroying students and unequal views toward specific types of people are weakening the patriotic bond. To begin, there are many types and factors that play a part in inequality and the consequences of societies from it, but one of the main reasons and apparent factors is wealth.
For this week 's current events I an article read on the Huffington post that talks about the vast wealth gap between Black and White America. According to the post the gap got a bit smaller in the years leading upto the Great Recession but in the past 30 years has exploded as the black and Latino communities have been hit by foreclosures and job cuts. There 's a lot of reasons why there are enormous wealth gaps between minorities and whites in America. The most simple answer is, it takes money to make money. Part of the reason that there 's this enormous gap is because whites have long had higher wages and wealth to pass on from generation to generation.
As outlined in chapter 10 of the course text, inequality in housing and wealth is a major problem. The United States is described to be the most unequal countries in the western hemisphere. But with the inequalities when it comes to wealth, the United States is one of the richest countries in the world. Wealth is the sum total of a person’s assets. These assets include, cash in the bank and value of all properties, not only land but houses, cars, stocks, and bonds, and retirements savings.
Abstract The economy is very skewered and is not equal in any meaning. The poor stay poor and the rich stay rich. The poor die off faster and the rich live longer. The poor get little to no education and the rich get the best education possible.
Economists believe that the hardships many poor people face like homelessness or slums are a result of a wealth gap that has been exponentially diverging the rich from the poor since the seventies. Studies show that “over forty
Every individual should be able to reach their career goals on account of their qualifications. With more emphasis to the free and competitive society, the authors shows the drawback of governments that promote equality over liberty. As stated by the Friedmans, the idea of an outcome being the same for all, the possibility that everyone should be equivalent, without regard to one's individual ability, is a hazardous view. The authors believe that there are many problems with this idea. The Friedmans use Great Britain as an example of what would happen if this was ever allowed in the United States.
We also must keep in mind that every act, even if compelled by a system, is still an act. Inequality must be stopped at a personal level and only then can it be fixed at the top. Landson points out a very compelling argument “If hard work were the sole determinate of your ability to support yourself and your family, surely we’d have a different outcome for many in our society.”
Swift proposes a solution to help those mothers who are helpless with children. “These mothers instead of being able to work for their honest livelihood, are forced to employ all their time in strolling to beg sustenance for their helpless infants:” (Swift, 752). These are mothers who have children of their own without realizing how low they stand economically. A better solution to poverty is for the wealthy to help the poor. If everyone contributes some time and money of their own the world would be a better place.
1. Introduction Income inequality has grown significantly during this past decades and this phenomenon continues to increase over the years. This problem is constantly discussed in the daily news all around the world. Several consequences of this increase of inequality between people leads to economic problems such as high unemployment rates, lack of work for young people, fall of demand for certain product. The gap between rich and poor is increasing, the rich are richer and the poor are poorer as a result politicians and economists try to adopt certain policies in order to reduce this gap.
Second, in realizing the dream of equal opportunity and narrowing the wealth inequality gap, work ethic is the one which needs much attention. According to the panel of economists discussed on patterns of income inequality and mobility: - For generations, despite real barriers of race, gender and wealth, most Americans have believed that if they work hard, they'll have real opportunities to earn steadily rising incomes. Even more important, parents believed that their children would have greater job and career opportunities than they ever did. (Is America Still the Land of Opportunity?).
The best individual should be allowed to achieve the highest rank in his job; this achievement should not be equally reachable by the laziest workers. Moreover, since workers do not have an incentive to demonstrate their abilities and their intelligence, equality would make people stop working efficiently, and so the society would slow
Saving the American Dream When the United States was founded, the American dream was a dream where hard working people could be financially profitable, and set their children up to hopefully, better off. This dream, although seeming achievable then, has slowly gotten out of reach from most American people. So, what is the American dream now? The American dream is to rebuild the middle class in a way that anyone, no matter their age, background, ethnicity, etc. can achieve the absolute best according to their abilities and by mending the distance between the ordinary man and the rich by changing the focus of the government from the wealthy to the middle class, we can inspire The easiest way to give everyone an equal opportunity to succeed is by leveling the playing field so that everyone has a chance to pursue their dreams. The economy today works in a way that allows the rich to benefit, and let everyone else fall more behind.
The individuals classed in the higher strata of society are the ones who are better treated, and therefore, are the ones who get the most benefits from society. It is not the individuals’ fault that society is formed this way. All societies are formed in a way that some percentage of the population is ranked in the higher pay range as well as some portion is ranked of the bottom pay range of the scale. There is no way that the social stratification of a society could be present because of the individuals themselves. There will always be a percentage of homelessness in a society and that is due to the larger societal forces rather than being the individual’s
In this respect, poverty can be eliminated by interaction with the right people in society. Poverty leads to most social problems in society but can be evaded or corrected with the correct perspective. Also, equal development of all regions would ensure that all members in the various societies are treated equally and therefore such disparities between the poor and the rich would
Equality, like fairness, is an important value in most societies. Irrespective of ideology, culture, and religion, people care about inequality. Widening inequality also has significant implications for growth and macroeconomic stability, it can concentrate political and decision making power in the hands of a few, lead to a suboptimal use of human resources, cause investment-reducing political and economic instability, and raise crisis risk. The economic and social fallout from the global financial crisis and the resultant headwinds to global growth and employment have heightened the attention to rising income inequality.
