The story of Casey Anthony was more than odd. According to USA Today, Caylee Anthony went missing on July 15, 2008.In December of 2008, Caylee’s body was discovered in the woods near the Anthony household ( Boweman). Grandmother, Cynthia Anthony, had dialed 911 the day Caylee went missing to notify police that Casey Anthony had kidnapped the two-year-old; along with stealing a car and money. Though, it had been an odd phone call because once the car had been returned Cynthia had re-called the police saying “My daughter’s car trunk smells like there has been a dead body in it”. This is strange considering the articles of evidence found in the trunk.

There have been many people who have looked into the case of Karen Silkwood. One investigator had seen skid marks along with the incredulous dent in her back bumper. That indicated that another car had forced Silkwood into a culvert (“November 13, 1974). Considering the fact that they was evidence that there was another car many people said that is was indeed murder. Even Bill Silkwood,Karen Silkwood’s father, deducted that she was murdered exclaiming that he needed to learn who killed his daughter (Bashke 194).
USA TODAY published an article “Casey Anthony breaks her silence: I sleep pretty good at night.” Anthony did an interview with Associated Press speaking about the case and her daughter’s death for the first time. The Associated Press said that the interview with Anthony was “revealing, bizarre and often contradictory, and ultimately raised more question than answers about the case.” In the interview with Associated Press, Anthony admitted to lying to the police about a number of things such as her employment, leaving her child with a babysitter, and receiving a call from Caylee before she went missing. During the trial, the defense stated that Caylee had drown in the pool and then Casey Anthony’s father tried to cover up the accident.
During the trial of Casey Anthony, her lawyer, Jose Baez, acknowledged the death of Caylee with a story no one had ever heard until then. Baez states that Caylee accidentally drowned in the pool, and “Casey disposed of her body” due the fear of her father that sexually abused her and supposedly her daughter as well. (Schildkraut). Given the fact that this has never been heard of or acknowledged until this trial comes off as unbelievable. Especially from Casey Anthony’s past of lying.

One by one all five entered the bathroom where their mother waited for them, unfortunately not a single one would make it out alive. Within six months of this heinous crime Andrea Yates the mother of these five children was put on trial.
In the Casey Anthony trial, a controversial piece of evidence had been brought up about whether or not the “smell of death” from the trunk of Casey’s car can be linked to and used as evidence in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony. The smell that was in the trunk of Casey’s car could have been used as evidence in the trial. Why? Because it would have proven that, her daughter Caylee decomposed body was in the trunk of the car.
Baez also says that Caylee drowned in the Anthony family pool on June 16, 2008, and that George and Casey Anthony covered up the death.” (Trial Fast Facts) The defense claims that the traces of chloroform found in the trunk occurred while covering up Caylee’s drowning. The defense attorney claimed that Anthony and her father tried to cover up the death. A forensic expert is brought in and testifies that there must have been a decomposing body in Anthony’s car trunk because that was the only plausible explanation for the odor in the car trunk. Casey Anthony did not testify during the whole court process. The jury deliberated for almost eleven hours and their verdict for Anthony was that she was not of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. She was found guilty of four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.
