During the group activity, my group and I played with marshmallows and spaghetti sticks. With the marshmallows and spaghetti sticks we had to build some type of structure and as a team we decided to build a tower. The hardest challenge, we faced during our activity was not being able to sit close enough to each other’s. Another challenged we faced was trying to have our tower stay standing in order for it not to collapse. The easiest part for us was determining what we were going to build. We all had no disagreements, which made the whole group activity easy and interactive.
As a fairly new group during the marshmallow and spaghetti activity we all acted very friendly towards each other. As for myself, I acted pretty normal during the activity I felt very comfortable with my group. Typically I am very shy cause I don’t feel smart enough, however with my group I did not feel intimidated or shy. Throughout the activity, the group talked about different ways in which we could build our tower. Such as, building walls of marshmallow, creating flowers for the outside of the tower, we even discussed building a door for the entrance of the tower. Another thing we talked about was how messy the marshmallows were and how

I shared my ideas and helped with the entire structure of our tower. I believe the group members acted very friendly with me. They treated me with the upmost respect and helped me when understand how some of my ideas would not work in order to benefit our tower. During this activity I am most proud of my idea to build walls with the spaghetti sticks because it really helped the tower stay standing. When I was in the group session I was least happy with myself when I started to build flowers for our tower and they were not coming out good enough. I am a perfectionist, so I decide to stop making the flower and start adding ideas to the
In the future, we will be sure to practice more as a group and not just at home by ourselves. Our team communication worked well, and in order to get everything done in time we had to check in on our teammates and begin a group chat. We were very prepared to answer
We went over the basics before we built. Building was the funniest
I formed this group because Alyssa and I were both struggling and I know Porter is great at math so I reached out to him to help us and study together. The group has been helpful because a lot of my questions can be answered by my friends. The dynamic is great because none of us are afraid to sound dumb with questions, so we are all very open and open to helping. We haven’t strictly followed the guidelines in the hand out being that we feel that the way the study group naturally works is great for us and our own learning styles.
In my junior year of high school, I led the planning, design, and construction of a boardwalk trail over community wetlands. Of the numerous collaborative efforts Scouting has afforded me, this Eagle Scout Service Project was the most complex and gratifying. In addition to construction management, I learned three things from collaborating with the individuals involved: each person brings a particular approach to problem-solving, each person brings strength of expertise in different areas, and each person may bring a different view of the world that might restrict using “apparent” direct solutions to problems. One situation where I learned to be adaptable and draw on the strengths of others ideas was when building the components of the boardwalk.
Our group slowly started losing interest in the activity and just complained. I believe we should have been more inclusive. Our group should have taken a few minutes to discuss what we what we were doing wrong and how we can fix it. This way we could have heard everyone’s opinion and taken their ideas into account. Inclusivity could have helped our team with our communication and have us working towards the same goal.
My friend and I thought it would be cool to be in charge of middle schoolers for a week. We would both be team leaders. I was the leader of the blue team. He was the leader of the red team.
From my observation, the group members were very friendly and welcoming. Before the session began, I was greeted with hugs and everyone introduced themselves to me. Another observation that was made is that everyone in the group looked the same (myself included).
Interpersonal behaviors are used to meet their needs, their group interactions are characterize by these behaviors and therefore determine which stage are they currently in during a group development. Schutz divided the group development models into three phases: inclusion, control and affection phase. Firstly, the inclusion phase. During this phase members are anxious becoming group members. The focus is on whether to be in or out of the group as one is not sure to what extent will, he or she is supposed to get involved with the group.
The game's well-designed gameplay mechanics, simple user interface, and sane gameplay rules combine to produce an entertaining and thought-provoking experience. The game's block-based construction system, which is simple to comprehend and use and enables players to construct complex structures and machines with little difficulty, clearly displays the Minecraft logo. Players can grasp the fundamentals of the system quickly since it is logical and straightforward, and they can then experiment and invent to produce complicated designs. Also, the construction mechanics are thoroughly thought out, enabling exact placement and control of individual pieces. The game is simple to comprehend and play since all of these components are connected in a logical and coherent manner.
I have been assigned more group work and group projects in middle school than elementary school. As a result of the abundant amount of group assignments I have been given, I have become less hesitant to express my ideas. I chose to represent this part of my life with an ant colony since ants need to work as a team in order to sustain their colony and get work done; this is the same as group projects and assignments because in order for assignments to get done efficiently, all people of the group must contribute and work
It seemed as though I lived in a double life, aside from the physican realm, I existed in a utopia of imagination. As I grew older, I realized that building a high tower or long bridge is not just a the imagination from the Lego structures but it could be created in my real life. This actually gave me tremendous passion
At our first few meetings, team building was key. In an effort to overcome the initial shyness, we took the time to understand and get to know our fellow team members; in doing so, establishing a welcoming and encouraging environment for everyone to share their ideas whist too ensuring everyone felt appreciated. Getting the team to gel was essential for the team to get results. We met at regular intervals, usually weekly, to discuss and reassess our progress. However, finding the time to meet proved quite difficult, between everyone’s busy schedules and with the plenty of other assignments we all had going on simultaneously.
It will briefly discuss the feedback from my tutor and the group members. And finally the conclusion. Definition of group According to Berg, Fall, & Landre (2013, p 195) "Group work is a broad professional practice involving the application of knowledge and skill in group facilitation to assist an interdependent collection of people to reach their mutual goals which may be intra-personal, interpersonal, or work related" Planning In order to prepare for our group facilitation exercise, my colleague and I sat together for the first time in class to plan and discussed our understanding of what we thought was expected of us.
Motivation, perception and team work are all vital aspects of a functioning group no matter how big or small. Without these contributions, we cannot achieve the goals. Not only did I learn more about how it is to work in groups, but I also learned something about myself. In the end, the experiences I had, both with the group and individually, was worth it. It prepared me not only in college, but in my future career as well.
Post-Group Process Learning Reflection From January 17 And 24th On January 17th we did allot of group activities including class sculpting and group representation of values in groups. For the class sculpting we went into two circle and one person became the sculptor and one became the clay, we were given expression like being surprised, and we had the sculptor had to reenactor the expression on the person that was the clay. I found this a unique activity to get the classes energy up and to get to know the class a bit better.
