Business Manager Challenges

Managers face many challenges in managing business; however, being competitive is very important because you will have to make sure that your business is doing better than the other you are competing against. You will have to make sure that the associates have enough cash in the registers to keep the business going because customers can always take their business somewhere else. We sometimes think that when a customer walks out and is not satisfied then everything will be alright but that one customer can really hurt the business because that customer may complain and tell others customers about the bad experience they had and then it will spread. I was working there for almost three months and it was a good experience for me because I have never work collections. I did not think that I was going to only be there a short of time. My district manager had came down to the store and we was wondering why is she here; however, she was making a lot of phone calls and walking back and forth. I was wondering what was she doing and my other co-workers was wondering too. I was about to go to lunch and I was called to the back and another co-worker. The only thing I was thinking of what did I do wrong. My manager and the district manager came to the back and started talking to us about that the total accounts was too low and that we had to get the accounts up. They had told me and the other girl that they had to lay us off due the accounts was low and they didn’t have enough funds to pay until the accounts come up. I was very terrified. It really broke my heart because I had bond with the employees and had got good at the good. The district manager was explaining to us that we was excellent workers and she was trying her best for them not to cut Jackson store but they had too. My manager was crying because she said she do not fire or lay peoples off because everyone needs a job. I just gave this as an example for my manager. She faced a lot of challenges on laying us off.
