Challenges in Women Empowerment Prof. Diksha Gabhane Rsshtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. Abstract: Women can attain power in society with the powerful tool such as Education. Education is the platform which helps to reduce inequalities and improve their status in society. But in current scenario because of male dominating society women education has been avoided for a long time. In general women empowerment means the process in which women can achieve legal rights, participation in economic, social, cultural, political activities and decision making. It has been seen that uttermost policies are working for their economical development avoiding other factors like education, health and literacy etc. Empowering women is important as it will provide them same status, legal rights and opportunities as men. The present study explores the role of education in women empowerment and the status of women education in India. It shows that the education is most important part in the life of every woman. Women has pathetic condition in economic status. Empowerment refers to process of development and to professional support of people. It often involves the entire developing confidence in their own capacities. Introduction: Empowerment refers both to the process of self-empowerment and to professional support of people.
