I am reading Crossed by Ally Condie and I am on page 252. This book is about Cassia looking for, and eventually finding Ky in the Carving. Early on, Ky escapes into the Carving with his friend Vick and a little boy named Eli. They navigate the channels, paths, and caves, trying to find a way back to the Provinces, so Ky can reunite with Cassia. Meanwhile, Cassia and her friend Indie also travel amongst the canyons. Cassia and Indie escaped into the Carving to find Ky. The two groups eventually meet up in a happy reunion between Ky and Cassia. The group then find a man in and abandon village who takes them to a hidden cave with Genetic samples from the society. In this paper I will be predicting and questioning.

Vick has a love that he got Contracted to when he lived in Camas. He loved her very much and never wanted to let her go. Ky realized Vicks longing for her when he is carving her name in a piece of wood and thinks “ I know what he has been marking all along. Not time survived in the Outer Provinces - time lived without her” (Condie 175). Ky is also able to endure the hardships they face because he needs to find Cassia again. She is the whole reason he escaped in the first place, and he has nightmares about leaving her. The whole group though are motivated by each other and support each other in their toughest times. Cassia and Indie relied on many similar things to be able to survive the perilous trek. Cassia and Indie were able to bring many things from in the camp. They brought the packs and jackets that were given to them when they first arrived in the outer provinces. The jackets kept them warm while the flashlights allowed them to move at night when they were least visible. Cassia had her blue pills from Xander that supposedly let you live for an extended period of time. Ky and Indie later explain that he will stop you and ultimately kill you if
