Percy is a troubled child as stated previously. He may only be twelve years old, but he gets expelled quite a lot because of his behaviour. He is a fairly oblivious minded kid, but he gets things done correctly despite his ADHD and dyslexia. He is quite trustful and loyal because no matter the obstacles in front of him during his journey, he continued on. His hair is jet black, like his father Poseidon, and bright green eyes. His best friend from Yancy Academy is Grover Underwood. Grover is a Satyr, which is a creature that is half goat half human. His bottom half is a white goat, so luckily he doesn’t have a goat face. He has bright orange hair that is very curly and has a slight stubble growing on his chin. He doesn’t trust himself as much as he really should. He is a very cautious person that is quite coy. He knows what to do in any situation when they are in a difficult situation, but sometimes he relies on Percy and Annebeth. Speaking of Annabeth, she is a twelve year old girl who ran away from her family when she was seven because of her father. She is an extreamly wise girl with the ability to think quickly on her feet and seems to always have a plan. This is because she is the daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom. Though she doesn’t seem like it at first, she can be slightly bossy. This is mainly because she wants everything to go right. Annabeth’s hair is bright, vibrant blond …show more content…
In this collage, I used various words. All of these words related to my book, Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief, in one way or another. For example, the word water is related to this book because Percy is able to control water. It can also be related because of the many other actions he did with water, such as being healed in that cool liquid. Even the lines under the words have a meaning. The black lines are the dangerous words with malicious intent. The red lines are the irritated, mad words. The colours go so on and so forth. Each expression has a significance to the story no matter how simple it seems. I used thirty-three words this time. The following words are all the expressions and phrases I put onto my word collage
Percy is also brave, smart, and courageous, but he is also strong and caring. Percy’s main objective in the story is to get out of the underworld and stop a Roman vs Greek battle. Some devices used by the author in this story are alliterations, similes, and personifications. Some similarities in these two books are that both main characters need to solve a problem, both need help from
Such as braveness, intelligence, and humility. When Percy, Annabeth and Grover Were at the arch, they split up and Percy was in the most danger because on the way in the elevator, he was stopped by these two people, a fat old lady and her dog who later transform to Echidna and her son Chimera. The only way Percy could save himself was by jumping out of the hole into the Mississippi. At first he was scared that his father would not save him, but as brave as he was, “I turned and jumped.
Percy Jackson is a dyslexic boy who gets in lots of trouble. He is an only child living in upstate New York raised by his and has ADHD. That’s not all now that Percy finds out he is a half-blood he is in danger, because he is accused of stealing Zeus Master bolt. Now Percy must go on a quest to return the bolt to Zeus, but on the way he will fail to save what matters the most.
The series before this was called Percy Jackson & the Olympians, and he was the main focus. I feel like during this whole series I’m not getting Percy. By that I mean they don’t really talk about his emotions besides when it’s about Annabeth. I understand he’s in love but I don’t think that means love is the only emotion he feels.
Have you ever wondered what inspired or motivated Rick Riordan to write Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief? The answer is Greek mythology. A lot of things nowadays are based off Greek mythology. Hades, the ferryman Charon, and the mythical creature Cerberus are all based off this. Actually, most monsters and creatures from Percy Jackson are somehow based on Greek mythology.
Percy 's birth into his Hero Cycle occurs when he crosses into Camp Half Blood for the very first time. His subsequent call to adventure is when he consults with the Oracle. During his visit to the Oracle, Percy learns what he must do in order to be successful on his quest. Chiron, also known as Mr. Brunner, assists Percy in his initial preparation for his quest. He makes sure Percy, Annabeth, and Grover all have the things they need in order to be somewhat prepared for what lay ahead for them.
Percy Jackson and the lightning thief is about the offspring of poseidon and a mortal, going on a quest with his friends to find Zeus’ missing lightning bolt. The bolt went missing and Percy Jackson is accused of taking it. This is an excellent book that was made into a film. Though the film was good it was very different from the book.
Percy Jackson, the main character in The Lightning Thief ,is following the path of the hero in “Hero’s journey” On Percy’s life a teacher has become his mentor. In the Lightning Thief Percy says “But Mr.Brunner expected me to be as good as everybody else, despite the fact that I have dyslexia and attention deficit disorder and I had never made above a C- in my life” In this quote, percy expresses his feelings on how he is frustrated with himself and his teacher. In hero's journey a quote shows about mentors, “Heroes are almost started on their journey by a character who has mastered the laws of the outside world and come back to bestow this wisdom upon them.” That is how The Lightning Thief is compared to hero's journey.
"The Sea of Monsters" by Rick Riordan is the second book in the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" arrangement. In this book, Percy Jackson goes up against a mission to spare his dearest Camp Half Blood. Percy Jackson is seen nearing the finish of his seventh grade year and even though amped up for being finished with the school, and going to Camp Half Blood for the late spring, Percy is worried about a nightmare dream he has had in regards to his companion Grover. Percy doesn't know what the fantasy has implied but rather at last chooses he needs to concentrate on school. At the point when Percy touches base at school he and his companion, Tyson, are tormented by a gathering of new young men that have arrived.
Finally, the entering the unknown happens. I know this because when he goes to camp half-blood there is the constant threat of danger. Also his strength and courage is tested time and time again. In conclusion, percy’s experiences align with the Hero’s
Initially, when Percy played capture the flag in his camp, his persevere characteristic kept him alive. Annabeth was very close to killing him, but he never gave up, and fought for his team. Subsequently, Percy's mom was abducted by the Minotaur. He wouldn't let his loving and caring mom just go away like that. He snatched the Minotaur horn off of it, and stabbed it with it.
In the novel Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief By Rick Riordan, the main character is very caring and persistent. Percy Jackson is a 12-year-old boy and finds out that he is half human, half god. On page 49, the author writes about a conversation between Percy and his mother: “‘Mom, you’re coming too,’ ... ‘He doesn’t want us... he wants you.
Percy has learned his role throughout the story as he journeys to bring back what was taken from his uncle (Zeus) to keep peace in the world. Some challenges was getting to know that he was son of Poseidon, being attacked by the three furies, and being betrayed by the ones he called a true friend to a King Titan
Again, Percy’s ability to communicate and coordinate a team are tested, but unlike the encounter with the furies, he is successful this time. Percy’s growth is especially clear when he acknowledges Annabeth’s successful calculations, saying “If we’d have jumped when I thought we should’ve, we would’ve crashed”, admitting that Annabeth saved their lives (240). Percy communicates well, delegating responsibilities— “‘Get into that booth! Find the ‘on’ switch’” he yells to Grover, “‘Unfasten your seatbelt’” he yells to Annabeth—to guide the group. The test of the waterpark displays Percy’s confident leadership abilities as he coordinates
Also when he actually comes back to camp everyone is surprised and do not know what to say. Lastly, Reyna does not like seeing Nico because he is so powerful and he has a curse. Another thing about Percy is that he is very powerful. One thing is that he is the son of Neptune. Neptune is one of the three main Gods.
