For this manager position, there are many leadership traits and behaviors that are desired. First and foremost, the ideal candidate for the job will not only fit the culture (ethics, attitudes, values, and standards) of the company, but also be committed to, passionate about, and foster the company culture. In addition to being in-sync with existing company philosophy, boasting a positive attitude, possessing high energy, craving education, consistently improving, and owning patience are very coveted traits for this managerial position. Responsible leadership alludes to not only the actions of the leader, but the processes, strategies, and culture that they foster and enable to reinforce and display collective upstanding behavior (Cameron, 2011, p 29). Leading by example, while staying true to company culture, building company culture amongst employees, and portraying company culture to customers, is essential for this position. When this trait is in line, it is paramount that the person hired for this managerial position is passionate. Sigmund Ginsburg describes passion as the energy that materializes from bringing more of who you are into the work that you do (as cited in Shrivastava, 2010, p. 444). McKinney (2011) supports this idea as he expresses a leader’s passion creates positive energy, but it is important to determine where the leaders passion comes from, as they are the catalysts in the development of highly motivated units. Ushering authenticity into work equates passion with energy and enthusiasm, thus encouraging a leaders’ subordinates to be more enthusiastic about their work as well. Influencing employees positively is crucial when reducing employee turnover.
