Teaching English for Specific Purposes was and is a controversial issue among EFL teachers and others. Whether the EFL teacher or the specialist in the field should teach ESP courses is the matter of controversy. Absolute Characteristics 1. ESP is defined to meet specific needs of the learners 2. A good way to motivate your students is to explain some of the positive aspects of learning English. Here are some tips you can use: This is an international language (the original language of more than 25 countries) We can talk to people around the world and communicate with our friends. We can write to people in other countries and abroad. We can read English songs, watch films and TV in English. We can read magazines and other countries (like sports, music, and / or fashion magazines) English is used every day (in TV ads, product names, music, etc.). Students may speak English in their working life. We can use the Internet to access much information written in English. Motivation is generally important in learning second language. In addition to attitude, learning success is closely related to motivation, as cited in Houston (1985). Motivation is one of the key elements in the success of language this regard, Liverier (2005) showed that “when asked about the factors which influence individual levels of success in any activity – such as language learning, most people would certainly mention motivation among them”. According to Gardner (2006) the level of motivation is significant for learning and it is obvious that students with higher levels of motivation will be better off students with lower levels. He also argued that, if it has a motive, the reasons (motivation) to participate in the relevant activities, it would spend a lot of effort to continue in activities until to achieve the goal (learning English). Oxford and Shearin (1994) suggested that when learners are motivated and striving to achieve something, they make them feel proud and self-confident about themselves and how they develop language; they were more likely to deliver higher results. In addition, some scholars believed that students would be more successful with a positive attitude and high motivation compared to those with a negative attitude and motivation (2011).It can be denied that higher-motivated students are always more successful in language learning,
