Final Paper on Charles Darwin Charles Darwin has impacted the world that we live in today quite greatly. Charles Darwin changed evolutionary biology forever with his many ideas and theories. With these ideas and theories he has also changed the way the world sees religion and has caused many to question their chosen faith. Charles Darwin discovered countless plant and animal species as well as studying and tasting them. Charles Darwin has traveled around the globe studying many different ecosystems and the plants and animals that inhabit them. Charles Darwin will be forever known for his contributions to history that has made our society what it is today. Charles Darwin was a geologist and naturalist born on February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England. His father is Robert Darwin and his mother is Susannah Darwin. Darwin was educated at the University of Cambridge, The University of Edinburgh, and at Christ’s College in Cambridge. With his education he would travel around the world studying plants and animals and he would then propose his theories that would forever change evolutionary biology. Conklin explained how Darwin has impacted our world today. Edwin G. Conklin was an American biologist and he went to college at Ohio Wesleyan and John Hopkins Universities. The World’s Debt to Darwin explains how Darwin not only changed evolutionary biology into what it is, but he also changed the way humans look at life. Darwin’s theory of evolution changed the ideas of many other subjects other than biology but it caused us to question our thoughts and ideas of everything. People begin to question religion because Darwin’s theories contradict traditional Christian teachings. It just shows how much of an impact that Darwin’s theories have left on
I think that George Washington had a dramatic impact on the U.S. because he was the first president and he issued the Neutrality Proclamation. George Washington was the first elected president of the United States. (pg 183) This was important to our country because Washington set the standard for the future presidents. After Washington had helped in the Revolutionary War, the people liked him a lot.

“My scientific studies have afforded me great gratification; and I am convinced that it will not be long before the whole world acknowledges the results of my work” (Biography.com Editors). Gregor Mendel changed history by how he was the one who discovered the principles of heredity. Gregor Mendel marked history when he discovered genetics and how they work. He was the man known as “The Father of Modern Genetics” (The Doc). He is worthy of research because we would not know that we get our traits from our parents, or how it happens.
“Benjamin Franklin lived his life in the spirit of a renaissance man: he was deeply interested in the world around him, and he excelled in several widely differing fields of human endeavor.” (“Home”). Franklin was born in Boston of 1706 where he was raised in a poor family and was unable to have an education for more than two years. At age 12, he was apprenticed by his older brother who worked in a printing business. Benjamin later became successful in the printing business and soon became successful through his inventions as well.
Upton Sinclair was an author and socialist figure during the early 1900s. His place in history was forged by his many accomplishments in successful writing that exposed the horrors of the meat packing industry. He was also a famed critique of the government and offered ideas on its reformation and even ran for governor as a socialist but primarily gained he place in history for his book The Jungle . Upton Sinclair is a significant figure in history due to his outspoken nature and his exposure of the meat industry that led to a multitude of new regulations making food in America safer.
For the following 40 years this earth shattering discovery affected exploration into human evolution.
The Impact of Edgar Allan Poe on American Culture Edgar Allan Poe once said, “Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.” Edgar Allan Poe is among many authors as one of the most influential writers of all time. Edgar Allan Poe had a unique writing style that no one else did. He did impact many people and still impacts many to this day.
As Jackie Robinson once said “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives”. There is no doubt that Jackie Robinson has been one of most impactful baseball players to ever play the sport. For reasons such as pushing himself to reach his goals, facing many hardships, and being the first African American to play in the MLB, he has shown perseverance and been a role model to everyone. The first reason how Jackie Robinson has impacted society is how he worked hard to reach his goals.
Many ideas led him to believe what he believed. One of them was, James Hutton’s ideas about geological change. His theory consisted that sediments, rocks, soil, etc were made after the great flood and new species “rose” from that disaster and that it’s a cycle. Charles Lyell’s theory also shaped his thinking. Lyell wrote the book of “Principles of Geology”, where Hutton became famous.
A long bearded Charles Darwin strides onto a large stage. He stops in the middle of the stage and turns toward his audience. “How could you do this?” he says to the audience. “My idea was to explain where the origin of life began!
A political figure is someone who has made an impact on our country in a way that no other political figure has. Each political figure is unique in their own way. That may include ending a war, starting a war, influencing the people of our country or just leaving their mark in the political world. Aaron Burr is one of our former political figures of this country. Aaron Burr definitely impacted this country in his own way.

Samuel Morse was born on April 27, 1791. His invention was the electric telegraph, which he created in the 1830s and 1840s. He was an American painter and inventor who is known for developing morse code to make the electric telegraph better. Morse was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts and his father was a distinguished geographer and congregational clergyman named Jedidiah Morse.
Over the course of the American history, black people were oppressed and treated unfairly. A few ways that society treated black people is by segregating them from white people, beating them up, and taking advantage of them. As a consequence, African Americans grew up in an environment were limited in their abilities, had hatred towards the white, and had a constant judgment from white people. These factors contributed towards the way society viewed African Americans, flawed, uneducated, and poor. Yet, a notable person who overcame these obstacles and made the most out of his experiences was Malcolm X. He made a dramatic change not only in American history but in African American rights.
