Introduction: Who killed Jim Tan? This question has been pondered for years. The two suspects of the case are Charlie and Jean Tan, but no one has been able to come to a conclusion about who killed Jim Tan. Jean called the police on February 9th. In hysterics, she told the operators that her son, Charlie, killed Jim. The police officers arrived at the house and arrested Charlie that night. Charlie claimed that he had to kill his father because his father was going to kill his mom. No one was convicted at the trial because the judge was not able to come to a conclusion. I believe Charlie killed his father.
Motive:
When it comes to motive, both Charlie and Jean had reason to murder Jm. It was clrear that their were problems at home. An article on Democrat and Chronicle references the 911 call Jean made on the night of the murder saying, “County records show that this was one of 18 calls to the home from 2003 to before the Feb. 9 arrest.” (“Charlie Tan Murder Case Timeline” par. 3). This means that there was some form of trouble at home. Mostl likely, Jim was abusive to Jean. Jean could have killed her husband to stop the abuse. An article on TWC news said, “The proof is pretty clear he took care of the problem at home," Gargan said. "And he did it like he does everything else; with a degree of thoroughness, dedication, and no room for question on whether or not he accomplished what he needed to do”. Mr. Jones killed Mr. Kelley, there is just an overwhelming amount of evidence that points directly to Mr. Jones committing the murder. First of all, Mr. Jones was jealous of Mr. Kelley because Mr. Kelley had destroyed Mr. Jones’ business by stealing all of the customers so he had none. This Fact is important because it shows that Mr. Jones had a motive against Mr. Kelley. If Mr. Kelly wasn’t taking all of Mr. Jones work then his company would be able to prosper. Murder Case Against Adnan Syed In 1999, a murder case spiked the enthusiasm of the community of Baltimore, Maryland. Hae Min Lee was the victim of this unforgettable murder which brought together three main suspects: Adnan Syed, Jay Wilds, and Don; however, Don and Hae had only been together thirteen days prior to the murder.
