This is such an international common tongue which connects people all around the world. It has become the lingua franca in many fields, such as politics, business, technology, science, business, and entertainment, to name a few. This has made the need for learning English arise. However, to fully discover all the aspects, readers have to gain their own knowledge and deep understanding of the novel “Jane Eyre”, and English literature during this period also. The research may give students knowledge of the classical literature, which helps them broaden their horizons. This can lead to the students’ improvement in general cultural awareness. Besides, the paper may also be beneficial students a deep insight into English history in 19th century. Moreover, it may be beneficial to History teachers in illustrating the English society in this period of time. Literature teachers also can take some benefits from the research with some constructive ideas when teaching the novel “Jane Eyre”.
