Chartered accounting is an accountant who is accountable for publishing as well as the preparation of a company’s financial statements. They work in fields of finance, business, taxation and general management. Chartered accountants work in all fields of business and finance which includes audit, taxation, financial and general management. Some are engaged in public practice work, others work in the private sector or are employed by government bodies. Chartered Accountants provide the necessary information of a businesses financial statements, providing technical guidance and the overseeing of internal controls in the business. My personality is very outgoing and I like to think, which is why I believe that this type of career matches my abilities, interests and personality, as it requires working with numbers and having to solve or make decisions for any problems that may have occurred in the business. It will also suit my personality as I would not like to be doing the same activity for a long time, and the career allows me to do different things each day.

Skills and abilities that I may require for this career is to be professional, to have objectivity, empathy, understanding and to be a good listener, computer experience (windows, excel), financial management, the ability to supervise staff and to manage and supervise a team. I will have to also have the following qualifications in order to become a chartered accountant. I need to exit school with the correct subjects and levels such as:
The minimum level for mathematics ( not mathematical literacy) for an admission to university is a level 5, together with a National Senior Certificate.
A good grounding in English which will help you understand the different concepts
