Witnessing Chestertons Polo in the Park To think of London without Polo is like body without soul, they go hand in hand that’s how the locales and the tourists see to it. Polo is a popular spectator sport of the Britain. Though the origin of the sport can be traced down to Persia before Christ period still the Londoners cannot get their heart off this sport. The game is played by two teams one of them plays in defence and the other team in action played by players perched atop horses. Millions of passionate fans follow two ball sports one the favorite of Americans and the other the favorite of the world .Each is played on a large rectangular field the favorite of Americans is called Football and the world’s favorite is soccer also known as futbol in most countries. I prefer Soccer more than Football because I’ve been playing since I was little and i’m better at Soccer than Football. Soccer is a game played by two teams with 11 players each on a field with a goal for each team. It’s the most popular team sport in the world a fast gamed paced game with few breaks and one simple aim to score a goal. On some continents the game’s called football on others it’s called soccer.
Like all other sports, soccer has strict rules not just about sportsmanship but about personal conduct as well. Players are expected to respect each other and act as a unit and not an individual. Before games there are usually pep-talks and motivational speeches to inspire the players for the game. Players also warm up before the game in order to increase flexibility and concentration.
Sports in the Victorian Era were mainly competitive and taken seriously. However, some of the sports and games were brought to exercise, flirt, and socialize. They also brought less competitive games and playful activities to be shared by women and children. Some of their activities included walking, riding, cycling, gardening, playing a musical instrument, and visiting. These activities were mainly to stay busy and interfere with children’s chores (Mitchell 215).
Cheering the team or entertaining the crowd. Mostly, they are just seen as peppy and to people it doesn’t look much like a sport. Cheer does cheer on the sidelines, but that is only part of cheer. The other part of cheer is tumbling, stunting, and dancing. It may not look competitive on the sidelines but it depends on what season they are on.
Leap frog was commonly played anywhere in a large, spaced out area. It was played mainly by younger children. Bo-peep was also an activity that was done commonly in a nursery among young children. It consisted of peeping behind something and crying out “Bo” (Dyer). The Elizabethans usually didn’t have very big sporting spectacles.
It is open during lunch and dinner hours. Inside, there are many tables that sit around the restaurant and are covered in white tablecloth and has flowers placed in a clear vase. The walls are bright coloured that create a vibrant mood as people enjoy their meals with an almost inaudible music.
In the western part of Ireland lies the quaint village of Cong. Friendly ginger haired locals are quick with smile and a wave or to share a tankard of stout should you visit one of their festive taverns. The town’s second claim to fame it’s the location of the then Hollywood blockbuster, The Quiet Man staring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. In fact there’s a life-size statue of the big-screen lovebirds in the town center.
I was likewise inquisitive to see Soho in more fine grained detail since I as of late read the book, The Swimming Pool Library by Alan Hollinghurst. It's an anecdotal story of a youthful gay man's life living in London before the AIDS emergency. I really distinguished a ton with the story—in addition to there were some truly provocative scenes (sexual fiction is quite cool, who knew?!). Be that as it may, what was quickly obvious from the novel were the areas and spots said—a hefty portion of them broadly in London Soho and a few, even ones I perceived. What's more, as I've composed some time recently, flying out to spots found in popular culture dependably makes for more significant treks.
A. SPORT AS A UNIFIER 1. Sport is a unifier. Sport unifies teams, provinces, cities, countries and in some cases even the whole world. These games have the ability to put all problems on hold and find solutions to the most difficult situations. During these events we as spectators are able to see the athletes as more than just fellow human beings but as role models to society.
Victoria Island is the vibrant and the most alluring spot of the city that is genuinely called as ‘a city within a city’. It serves to be the home a wide agglomeration and array of hotels, upscale restaurants, malls, nightclubs and bars. The island is the most exclusive and expensive destination of the city that allows you unlimited opportunities of amusement and fun. Apart from that, it also serves as the focal point and hub of all the main commercial and economical activities. “The bar beach” is the soul of the island,
