I have found myself to be rooted deep down with my christian ministry group Chi Alpha. We are a group of students that seeks to make relationships within our religion of christianity in order to form a loving community for myself and many others to be a part of. Recently, I have found myself to be useful when it comes to running the soundboard at our worship and collaboration nights where I come in early in order to set up chords and mix the worship band as they practice. This has been an excellent experience as I have been able to keep up my love for music as the same time of attending university. My active participation to this after class activity has developed who I am as a person. Through my everyday life I thrive to be a loving person on not only my friends, professors, and colleges, but those who I …show more content…
There are many students on campus who are in need of someone to love on them and I am striving to make a difference in my campus by doing this every moment. I have truly grown and changed as a person through this club due to all of the extraordinary students that attend it. I have grown close to them and they have fortified me through all of my experiences in college so far which is a beautiful experience knowing that there are many who are looking after me through my journey here. I am intending to learn about and take part in the construction industry due to the fact that there are so many projects in this world that are in need of great minds and great help. Construction development is a long process that passes through many eyes until the project is complete. Therefore, it is a task that takes great skill in organization and patience in order to provide something for whoever is in
When I was young, my grandparents taught me that one’s purpose is to serve others and spread love and compassion. In high school, I’ve been able to live that lesson and work to help others. For the last three years, I’ve had the honor of being the BHS Acceptance Club’s president. In 2014, I was part of a campaign to stop the use of slurs at Brevard High and helped create a video to educate the student body on the harmful nature of such words.
Every time I am on the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s campus, I walk up to the statue of Abraham Lincoln. I have always admired Lincoln for his leadership. He stood up for what was right, took responsibility for his actions, and never gave up on anyone. The statue not only shows the lasting legacy of Lincoln, but it stands as a symbol for the legacy of leadership that surges through the university. Lorraine Hansberry and Lynsey Addario both attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
By volunteering at my local church and helping with local service projects, I have realized the commitment and perseverance it takes to lead by example. At my local church I continue to help with the organization of my youth group. After speaking at church staff meetings for several months we made it our goal to improve the youth group by ensuring that children and teens of all ages were included and had an opportunity to participate. I was able to create a system where teens who attended high school were paired with a middle school individual of the church. This provided a sense of inclusiveness and made the youth group more enjoyable for everyone.
I was already in a scholarship program that requires a lot of volunteer hours, but I was mainly spending them elsewhere. Chi Omega not only gives me the opportunity to take part in activities on campus, but also helps me gain experience in helping plan events. Although all of the required events are somewhat daunting, I have so much enjoyed the busy whirlwind of this semester with my sisters. Also, getting involved with my community has been such a rewarding process. Whether it was volunteering at Abba’s Tables or helping with Make-A-Wish, my heart is full from giving back with my fellow Chi
I was blessed to have a Slavic Baptist church not far from where I live. I always wanted to give back to someone underserved of similar origin as myself. In Sacramento there is a big Slavic community, which gave some opportunities for me to serve and apply myself. I started off with the church choir. Having a good background of singing from Ukraine allowed me to move up on the list of best choir soprano voices, and later our choir director started to sit me by the newcomers to help them learn songs faster.
It does involve a lot of patience, having a open mind, respect, the ability to solve some problems, and it also creates a good
Attending church in cottonwood Sunday’s and Wednesday’s has influenced my decision of being a Worship Leader. They play music in church. I like all kinds of music. I really like alternative music.
For the past five years I have attended Mission Arlington with my youth group during spring break. Mission Arlington is a organization that helps the needy and helps to improve the lives of citizens in their community. Every year they host a Rainbow Express where church groups from many different states come together to teach bible stories, memory verses, sing songs, eat snacks and play games at local apartments. Through this the main goal is to spread Christianity by telling people of all ages about Jesus. They also help provide needed materials to members of the community.
This requires intellect, vision, and perseverance on a daily
I thought maybe I should join choir but my freshman year was already packed. A few days later, a gifted and talented administrator asked me about taking an online history class over the summer, and I agreed ecstatically, for I could take choir. Although it was vague to me by then, when I look back on my time in high school and the various experiences I had, the path I took began with this
It will require a lot of time and sacrifice to get the assignments done right. It also
In volunteer work, always being a tutor for extra help in music, or being an extra hand and always asking others if they needed help. To this day I still follow these traits. I had gotten my Emergency Medical Technician certification and volunteer in my hometown and hopefully up here at Pittsford. In my experience with music therapy, I had done an internship where I had the opportunity to observe music therapy. It gave me such a wider experience to the application of music.
Chi-Square Test Chi-square test is a statistical test generally used to compare observed data with expected data based on a specific hypothesis known as null hypothesis. The Chi-square test test, what are the chances that an observed distribution is due to chance? It is also known as goodness of fit statistic, as it determines how fine the observed distribution of data fits with expected distribution when assuming the variables are independent. It is used for categorical data. Null Hypothesis Null hypothesis is that the variables are independent.
One of the greatest honors in my life is being part of my church's praise group. Through time, I learned how to become a leader in the church and in the group. These leadership skills were tested when my church planned a big campaign to make people aware of the Gospel . The church would invite a famous Latin Christian singer to perform and a sermon would be given as well. My family had recently moved to the church.
A little more than a year ago, I was involved in a terrible work place accident where my primary hand became trapped inside machinery at my place of employment. The end result is that I lost partial use of my right hand, as well as the ring finger; I can no longer make a fist, nor can I hold and manipulate the tools that were necessary for me to provide my family with the income we had come to rely upon to make ends meet. I was stubborn, to say the least, when the surgeon who worked on my hand told me that I would more than likely not be able to return to the work that I had been trained to do. He informed me that I had several months of physical therapy ahead of me before we would have any real answers, so I was not to try and do any more than instructed for the next six months to a year. Wow!
