Child soldiers are scary, tiny, underage criminals. What have they done besides kill people? There are approximately 300,000 child soldiers. 300,000 tiny, little killers. Child soldiers have been being used for many years in many countries. They are fighting for terrorists and multiple armed governments. Children join armies to get what they need for life. They think they won’t kill anyone but then they are turned into murderers. Children becoming killing machines. They have committed so many unspeakable atrocities. This is why child soldiers should not be granted amnesty.
First and foremost, child soldiers are killers. They are trained for anything. They can kill in an instant and are a danger to society. Innocent people don’t deserve to die at the hands of murderers. The soldiers can be anyone. They can look like a normal person and then start shooting someone. Many people underestimate children. “In the AFRC case, Trial Chamber II unanimously found Alex Tamba Brima, Brima Bazzy Kamara, and Santigie Borbor Kanu guilty of eleven counts of the crimes against humanity of extermination, murder, rape and enslavement, and of the war crimes of acts of terrorism, collective punishments, murder, outrages upon personal dignity, mutilation, pillage, and enlisting children under the age of fifteen years into an

Very dangerous in fact. They can man a gun, crush other people to death and do it all without a second thought. They’re used to their cruel, militaristic ways. “ What do I enjoy?” Awil asks, “I enjoy the gun.” (Gettleman) This quote is absolute proof that child soldiers should not get amnesty. He is saying that he likes the gun. What kind of corrupted child says that? “I like the gun.”This kid likes to kill people and no doubt if we grant them amnesty they could kill us. Do you want to die? No? In conclusion, if you don’t want to die, don’t grant child soldiers
In the world today, there is more than 25 countries who still actively use children in warfare. Child soldiers are human beings under the age of 18 who participate in military actions. They are evidently cheaper to maintain and to train than adult soldiers. They are also more loyal and obedient because the young respect their elders. It has been noted that estimately, 300 thousand children were recruited to fight and perform in war (Child Soldiers.)
One time when two of friends were really angry at each other, I stepped in to try and solve the problem. In “Armed and Underaged” by Jeffrey Gettleman and “The Charge: Genocide” by Lydia Polgreen, both have severe problems in countries that other countries need to get involved to try solve. First, children are placed and war and adults think it’s fine. Second, the black African muslims are being attacked by arab africans muslims and they thinks it’s fine.
Recently, the case of the child soldier in Guantanamo has drawn attention to the topic of whether child soldiers should be
Child Soldiers Deserve to be granted with amnesty as long as they don’t act violent. These underaged soliders are forced to act violent. They are also drugged, leaving them no choice but to do what they are told. On the other hand, many argue that they shouldn’t be given amnesty. They say the child solider do have a choice between saving themselves or others, but in kids are too young to expect themselves to save others instead of themselves.
The kids are victims. These kids are victims because most of them are being forced to do this. People state that child soldiers are criminals because they’re not getting prosecuted for all the actions that they are doing. But what people don’t know is why the kids keep doing all this crime in wars. According to the article “The Challenges of the African Criminal Court in Prosecuting Child Soldiers” It states that the children don’t know what they are doing wrong because they aren’t getting
Inside the borders of Afghanistan having children participate in combat is a reality for the civilians and children. In Afghanistan many children are being recruited to join armed groups. The children are being taken from their parents as young as eight years old and they are trained to use guns and fight in warfare. Recruiting child soldiers is a disadvantage in Afghanistan because it violates the children's human rights. First, the children of Afghanistan are forced to become soldiers and serve armed groups.
There are thousands of child soldiers in the world today. These children are stripped from their homes and sent to fight with people twice their age. Many haven’t even had their 11th birthday yet. Although some people say that child soldiers should not be granted amnesty, evidence shows that these children do deserve amnesty, except in cases when the former soldiers show violent behavior after war because children are forced to commit acts of violence and are force addicted to illegal substances so they won’t want to leave.
And also if they don’t listen or do what is told they are killed. There are some people who believe that there’s not a problem with being a child soldier. My opinion is that child soldiers isn’t such a good idea because on the article Child soldiers, Prosecution it says “ Child soldiers are not morally responsible for their actions. Children are often forced into fighting.” And also in the article Child soldiers-Summative essay it says “They have no choice, if they don’t fight their killed, if they fight they kill.”
While many children did lose their loved ones and wanted to avenge their deaths, it is not accounted for how clueless and how fast these children are at making decisions. Some people may say that child soldiers were completely aware of their actions, however many other children were still involuntarily brought into battle. According to the Guardian, over 90% of the children who live in countries troubled with conflict, and at times have to be sold into fighting. With the continuation of these conflicts and the decrease of families financial resources “‘many have no choice but to send their children to work or marry their daughters early’” (The Guardian).
Child soldiers are a new international problem but an old situation. Child combatants are fighting in today’s wars, they are used by many types of groups from insurgencies to military forces. It was common for the armies of the world to recruit children into their ranks. This practice was abandoned when nations started to use professional armies instead of citizens to fight their wars. It has shifted to armed groups and recruitment of children.
First of all, child soldiers are treated very poorly - like machines - to perform one task: kill. So, the captors do whatever they can to train the children to kill. Ishmael Beah, once a child soldier, was rescued by the UNICEF after being a child soldier for 2 years. As a child soldier, he saw crying children shot before his eyes, and he was brainwashed and drugged into oblivion. His captors desensitized him so much that he said, “Shooting became just like a drinking a glass of water.”
Mostly because of their families not being able to afford food or water or their families have been killed and they want to get their revenge on that person. Child soldiers are not responsible for their actions due to a lot of people dragging children into the army or feeding drugs to children to make them want to join the army”Child soldiers are not morally responsible for their actions. Children are often forced into fighting and have little choice whether or not they enlist.” This reveals that most of the child soldiers are not responsible for their actions they just do whatever the army tells them to do and
Assignment page Video Where many children all over the world merrily and freely live under the protection of the law, for others, this is a distant reality, they live in a world where they’re battling poverty, stripped of their childhood and basic human rights are expunged, they’re the innocent victims of conflict, and war is made to seem their one and only duty, not to mention that these are children no more than 10 years of age. They are put into a situation where it’s to kill or be killed. The United Nations defines a child soldier as, “Any person under 18 years of age who is part of any kind of regular or irregular armed force or armed group in any capacity.” Since the past 15 years, child soldiers are being used in almost every region of the world. Unlike most children, who go to school, they’re abducted from their families and forced into becoming a child soldier, where living conditions are beyond imaginable.
And the worst part is they have to suffer. I hope you know how sad that a child soldier is. This is how people are treating their kids and other children.. All around the world 300,000 kids being a child soldier suffering from losing their family and also killing them. Now you see how bad the kids suffer from this, being a child soldier is hard as it is.
First, children that are used as soldiers are constantly put in dangerous situations. Second, war has a devastating psychological impact on children who are forced to fight. To start, there are many dangerous situations that child soldiers are forced into. First of all, child soldiers undergo malnourishment, causing them to be less likely to survive in war. They don’t have as much stamina, strength, or resistance, all things that are crucial for surviving war.
