It can also affect their future by having to deal with serious issues, such as their mental issues or their injuries and scars that should be cured, and their future life when they have their own family. As World Health Organization said in their report in 1992 " that 97% of children abuse cases are caused by an addicted person". Then effects can affect children for long-terms, because when the abuse stop, the impact of child abuse does not end.
Parents are influential and playing a vital role to their children, especially during the stage when children are developing its cognitive thinking ability. As Immature children tend to follow parents’ behavior, when parents always exercise corporal punishment on their child when their child did something wrong, this will make their children believe that a wrongful act could be corrected by exercising corporal punishment. Some may say that there are children who only understands corporal punishment, but, Inasmuch as corporal punishment brings about some form of compliance, the hope of disciplining a child is to impart correct social values as well as ethics into the child not only within the time frame of the punishment being given, but even when one is not around to correct him or her. There are other forms of punishments that accomplishes this goal, Forness and Sinclair in their paper gives various alternatives that are more effective than corporal punishment bring about the same results (1984), for example the use of explanation and reasoning. When these kids fall into a life of crime and violence they know the risk and the punishments.
