Background of the Problem Children’s literature are materials that were created with the purpose of informing and entertaining young people (Library of Congress Collections Policy Statements: Children's Literature, 2008). This genre comprises of a wide variety of works, including picture books, easy-to-read stories, fairy tales, fables, folk songs, lullabies, and other similar materials that are created primarily for children (Fadiman, 2017). Reading literature at an early age will greatly benefit the children and will help them in achieving success. Educators, parents,

The researcher also plans to look for Facebook groups of Filipino parents (e.g. Circle of Moms Manila: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1842444199344919/?ref=br_rs) for easier data gathering.
This book is relevant today becuase it has important messages about bravery and putting things into action and exploring. I think these messages are important in current events today in many ways. One ways is that we always need to be brave in everything we do. Also we need to explore and see new thigs I the world to get a better understanding of different places in the world. That is how i think the messages in the book are relavent today.
Books about culture, religions, disabilities etc can be a way of showing a group of children different elements to each child’s life & the differences between individuals. This can help any confusion children have & can help prepare them for future situations they may come
Growing up we 've read picture books that have introduced us to literature, wildly funny characters and taught us how to use our imagination. However, have you ever thought maybe these children books aren 't just for entertainment? What if they have hidden messages with racist undertones or represent political movements. Sometimes what we see is not always what you get so I 've studied two popular children 's figures, Curious George and Babar the Elephant.
Perchance some grown ups will find it interesting anyway. Usually, older folks have to read children’s books for something specific, to analyze it, to read it to their children, but maybe they do like reading it just for gratification. Nevertheless, a children’s book doesn’t have an audience restriction. It can educate and delight each one of us.
Novels are filled with lessons vital to a developing brain, due to their ability to teach caution and create experiences. In summation, the fallacious act of banning books from students and others willing to learn is utterly
Books can create portals to different life experiences and encourage reading. A few schools and libraries have challenged the educational value of some books, however, therefore leading them to eventually be prohibited in a particular place. Each reason may be different depending on the book and the location of the exclusions. Books are icons of literature and their value should outshine the occasionally offensive topic. Be that as it may, there are multiple reasons why books should be taught and included in a curriculum.
Home is Where the Learning Starts Children start to love reading at a young age, but when reading textbooks the love for reading slowly starts to deteriorate. Most kids hate to read in school because it’s nothing they are truly interested in when in all reality children need to understand how important reading is. In the essay “My Literacy History” by Dedrick Skinner and “The Lonely Good Company of Books” by Richard Rodriguez he explains how he did not know why reading was so important, but as he grew older he understood its values. I also developed a love for books at young age when my mom began to read to me, but as I grew up I felt reading was a struggle because I didn’t understand its values like Rodriguez.
To be successful in life, it is required to know how to read. Reading brings knowledge and knowledge brings intelligence, wisdom, and understanding. People learn from many different forms of literature. One of the most important kind of literature is children's literature. It is responsible for teaching children things like vital knowledge that are required for school and life.
When censoring your own child’s school life, it can also have a great impact on the lives of other students. Choosing to remove content from schools and libraries takes the material from all students and children who can learn and benefit from the stories, not only that one child. Within the article “How Banning Books Marginalizes Children”, Ringel discusses the way in which literature written for younger children is more often aimed to please prospective parents and administrators instead of the intended audience of young minds. Accordingly, emphasizing the point that when literature does bring forward diverse subjects, issues one may likely experience in real life, to intrigue and educate young readers, authority figures will deem this content inappropriate, taking away its accessibility.
Different types of literature open new doors through which students’ can explore the unknown and expand their knowledge of controversial topics. The great examples found in literature have been the subject of much debate, as school boards wrestle with whether children should be allowed to read such difficult, harsh topics, as said in the article “How Banning Books Marginalizes Children” (Source F). There are so many brilliant works of literature spanning a wide variety of genres and topics, and a single school board should not determine what students learn. No one is proposing that second graders read The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, but rather that we intentionally choose literature that will expand, rather than limit, children’s options and minds. Not only do these great works lay the groundwork for our future generation, but they also serve to diversify students’ writing and analysis skills.
Can you recall your favorite childhood book? Children’s books date back to the 1800s with books like Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Later in the mid-20th century, books like The Cat in The Hat and Green Eggs and Ham brought entertainment and joy to kids all around America. Both books came to life by Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. Geisel sold more than one hundred million copies of his books for children.
Intro 1: What if your young child is looking through a book at your public library and comes across a topic that was way too mature for their mind set. Would you be okay with it? A big controversial issue that has been going on in the past year is if books should be banned. Now, no one is trying to banish libraries across the globe but people have requested to ban books that are inappropriate. This matter has grown to be worse because everyone has an opinion.
Banned Books?? This passage is why books shouldn’t be banned and why it's important for parents and/or the school board to not ban books. Prohibited books are unlawful and not helpful schools. Books are an entryway to various beneficial encounters and perusing supports sympathy and social-passionate advancement.
Children literature is important for youth to understand diversity and cultural differences. Diversity is often a difficult topic for young children to grasp due to most of the time when they are younger only being around people that look like them. Frazier says diversity in literature exposed kids to different types of people in a safe place where they can ask questions and learns (Hawkins). Diversity in children's literature can introduce young children to cultural differences and even similarities. Grasping these concepts at a young age can give children to look around and notice their surroundings and the people and things around them.
Children’s literature is the body of written works and accompanying illustrations produced inorder to entertain and instruct young people. The fundamental goal of children’s literature is to instruct and entertain. It covers various diverse themes such as mystery, fantasy and war. Some themes are discernible to the young reader, whereas some are more likely to be understood by an adult reader. This means that children’s literature is accessible to all ages, with different pieces of information within the text becoming clearer each time it is read.
