Thus, the United States entered into the Chinese Civil War to restrain the growth of communism in China and to defend United States country to balance its power with the Soviet Union, so that the Soviet Union could not become the most powerful state. United States is a country that has a super power after World War II with the Soviet Union, but in the Chinese Civil War United States lost this war when siding with China nationalist party. And in this case I assume that with the resignation of the United States while helping the Chinese nationalist party, because if the United States increasingly help Chinese nationalist party, the faster growth of the Chinese Communist Party. This is because the Chinese communists will continue to expand the territory of the continuing war between the Communist Party of China with the Chinese nationalist party. You also will need to know that the North and South had different perspectives about slavery, the North did not like slavery, the South did. Anyway, the Civil War was caused by the issue of the North’s and South’s different opinions. The first reason was about economic differences.

Countries such as Germany, France, Europe, Britain and Japan participated in the “sphere of influence” because China had valuable resources and these countries can control an area of trade in China. As shown in document A, the countries are reaching towards China to take their resources. The United States felt threatened and left out because they weren’t participating, they decided to create the policy as a coverup to join in the sphere of influence and take a role of power in China wealth. The United States had the right to create the policy because they believed that China wasn’t suitable and it was necessary for them to do it. As Theodore Roosevelt said in the Annual Message to Congress, if a country can govern themselves, they won’t need U.S interference.
When Japan invaded China in 1937, they started a chain of events leading to their defeat at the end of the second world war. Between circa 1925 and circa 1950 the Chinese communist party took hold of China sparking nationalism and anti-japanese stances, bringing the people new opportunities, and advocating social and gender equality. The Chinese people felt a loss of pride when Japan invaded them, but with the rising of the communist party they felt a new sense of nationalism and pride in their country. When looking at the conversation between a teenager and his grandfather, we get a wider picture at what life was like before the communist party rose to power.
James Polk was elected in 1845 and had an expansionist viewpoint. He accomplished all of his presidential campaign goals which included gaining Texas, California, Nevada, Utah, most of New Mexico, and Arizona including a few more territories on the southern border, therefore, expanding America's territories. In addition, Polk began a period of Manifest Destiny. This was a phrase used to describe America’s goal to grow from “sea to shining sea”. Also, the Mexican-American War in 1846 acquired new lands for America in the southwest from the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
The civil war began in the year of 1861, many historians have established theories for the main cause. Four of the possible theories include, morality and views on slavery, two societies, failure to compromise, states rights and Lincoln's election. Although all of these play a big role in the causes of the civil war, I believe the principle cause of the civil war was, the existence of two societies in the United States beacuse the South wanted to become more independent, had multiple uprisings due to slavery, and had differnt oppions on slavery. America was split into the North and the South, both very diverse. Some might say that the North was very independent and the south was very dependent on the north.

For the United States, the so-called “Loss of China” was a a catastrophe, not only because the US supported Chiang Kai-shek in the last few years, but also because it seems to be a victory for the Soviet Union and the global Communism. For China, in 1949 started for the first time in its history the possibility to build foreign relations without being “suppressed by unequal treaties” by western powers. But China‘s relations to other countries remained very complicated and complex.
Abstract The thesis of this paper is “The United States military has gone through significant advancements in their use of technology to prepare for war, while using different models, policies, and goals to be involved in different wars that have had an effect on the citizens of the United States to create a love-hate attitude towards war.” The research paper will show the different models, policies and goals that the United States military used to make advancements when going to war. It will go over the growth in technology in the American military and how these growths have led to more success. It will also show why Americans have a "paradoxical love-hate attitude toward war" (Millett, Maslowski, and Feis xiv).
