Malaysia population is a combination of different ethnics, as we know, there are Chinese, Malays Indians and others. Chinese is the second largest ethnic group in Malaysia after the Malays, as 6.65 million, occupy 23.4% of Malaysia 's population. Malaysian Chinese is referring to the full or part of people that exist Chinese blood who are born in or populate to Malaysia. Most of them is the alight from immigrant, probably of Han Chinese ancestry at between the mid-19th and early 20th century. Firstly, there are some history of Chinese immigration into Malaysia that can classified into three major waves.
First major waves were during the 15th century, Malacca Sultanate had a friendly diplomatic relationship with China. This can be highlighted by a Chinese princess known as Hang Li Po marriage to the ruler of Malacca, Sultan Mansur Shah. The princess brought 500 retinue and some of the handmaidens to Malacca. Third of the festival is mid-autumn festival. In this festival, there have a must-eat-food which is mooncake. It is a roundness such as a symbol that showing reunion and happy. There have differences of celebrations in Malaysia and China. The ways of celebration of China and Malaysia Chinese people in this festival is actually the same such admiring the moon, eating mooncake, lighting lanterns and guessing lantern riddles.
Qingming festival called as Tomb sweeping day, a festival that will celebration in Malaysia and China. This festival basically will at April 4 or 5. It is an important day that Chinese people show respect and commemorate to their ancestor by visiting their ancestor 's tombs, provide food or drink and burning some fragrant papers which representing money. They will also clean up the weeds next to the grave. They prayed to their ancestor to bless their family in a healthy and happy
