Disney's The Princess and the Frog (2009) can be seen as a film breaking racial barriers in the animated film industry where many film spectators disregard the many misconceptions of voodoo presented. Tiana was a poor African American girl living in New Orleans in the 1920s and her dream one day was to open a restaurant, but she has no capital. Her plans are subverted when both the prince and Tiana is turned into frogs by an evil voodoo doctor. To revert the spell, Prince Naveen and Tiana goes on a journey to find Mama Odie, a voodoo queen. Eventually, they fall in love and is married, subsequently breaking the voodoo spell with a kiss.
Everyone wants to fit in either in school or at work and in the short essay “White Lies”, Erin Murphy discusses how a little girl is being bullied at school and what she does to prevent it. In the fourth paragraph it states, “ All of this changed in mid-October when Connie’s father got a job at a candy factory, news Connie announced tentatively one rainy day during indoor recess” (Paragraph four). Because Connie was an albino she was viewed differently in everyone’s eyes. She decided to announce to everyone that her father worked in a candy factory, therefore everyone would like her. When the news came out everyone started to like Connie because she bought everyone free candy.
She used a funny voice, facial expressions and body movements, and did unexpected things that the audience could not imagine, which made them love her. In one scene in “I Love Lucy,” at the candy factory, Lucille and her friend called Ethel Mertz were offered a job of wrapping candy on the assembly line and were warned by the boss to do the job perfectly or they would be fired. While the job increasingly becomes difficult, Lucy cries, “I think we are losing the game!” (Nguyen). She then starts stuffing the unwrapped chocolates in her hat and mouth to hide them so that the boss cannot see them.

Within seconds, my entire face blew up, cheeks bigger than a chipmunk, eyes bigger than a fly, hives redder than a tomato; I had no idea what was happening. My mom panicked in a frenzy, dialed 9-1-1, and in a short period of time, I found out life-changing news: I was one of the unlucky 3 million people to be diagnosed with having a fatal peanut allergy. Being included in the minority of people who have such a severe allergy is difficult, especially when everyone around is nomming away on delicious treats, namely Kit Kats or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Growing up and attending birthday parties were hard too; when everyone was enjoying a tasty confetti-flavored cake, I was nibbling on Little Bites brownies, holding onto my EpiPen instead. In these moments I felt out of place; it made me feel weird that prior to the party, my mom had to directly hand a special snack for me to eat to a parent who would hold onto it until it was time for food.
It was around 6 pm and my whole family was here even my grandparents and god mother. I am eating my favorite food right now eggs, black beans and rice and plantains with sour cream. I take my last bite of food and then I ask my mom “can we have desert now”. She walks to the kitchen and grabs my favorite cake, chocolate. She lays it to on the table and we all gather around and then my family begins to sing happy birthday.

Primary deviance is a juvenile committing a delinquent act and ending up being pointless because it doesn’t affect the juvenile.
