Chow Test
Chow test, which is proposed by Gregory Chow in 1960, is to estimate the equations separately for each subsample and to test whether the coefficients of two linear regression models are equal. If a significant difference was found in coefficients of that two models, it illustrates a structural change in the relationship. Structural change is a deviation or shift in a time series, which it may eventually lead to large forecasting errors and unreliability of the model. The breakpoint for Chow test in this studies is set as January 2004, as the number of tourist arrivals dropped to 10.6 million in 2003 from 13.3 million in 2002. This was a result of outbreak of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) Test
Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test is formed by adding lagged terms of dependent variables to Dickey-Fuller (DF) test. ADF test is an alternative test to ensure there is no autocorrelation within the error terms in DF test. To determine the number of lags, the value that minimizes Akaike Information Criteria (AIC) is used. The ADF test equation is written as

Test statistics of ADF test is τ, but it does not follow t-distribution under H0 because the variance of the process is not constant. The empirical distribution of τ is tabulated by MacKinnon (1996). If H_0 is not rejected, y_t contains a unit root and it is not stationary. Else, y_t is said to be integrated of order zero or I(0).

The design relied on two Schmitt triggers to generate the two different tones while using the transistors to act as a switch. This causes it to trigger continuously between two unstable states, allowing automatic switching between two frequencies producing two different tones. Experiment 7 In this experiment we configured several DC circuits consisting of an emf and a network of resistors. The circuits were composed of a power supply, two DMMs, a circuit board, an SPST switch, and an assortment of known resistors along with one unknown resistor. Identification of bacteria within Unknown Culture #21 In this experiment, an unknown culture of two different types of bacteria was assigned to each person, a number of tests were performed to isolate and identify these bacterial cells. Based on knowledge from the previous experiments completed in lab, a basic understanding of each type of bacteria was used to create a flow chart that would aid the process of identifying the unknown bacteria within the culture. A gram stain that is performed initially will narrow down the types of tests certain bacteria will and will not respond to. In addition to the gram stain, some of the tests that were used include, a catalase test, an Eosin methylene blue (EMB) agar test, a bile esculin test, and a 6.5% sodium chloride (NaCl) test.

Sugars are converted to ethyl alcohol when fermentation happens. In this experiment we determined if yeast cells undergo fermentation when placed in a closed flask with no oxygen. Glucose and yeast are mixed together in a closed flask and allowed to incubate for about one hour.
