It cannot deny that Christopher Columbus was one of famous and important explorers in history because of some achievements and contributions of him in navigation. However, Christopher is still far from considering of hero because of some reasons. First, basing on description of "hero", hero is a person who sacrifices his or her personal needs to others, so Columbus should not be considered as hero. Because of his agreement with King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain, his purpose for the voyage to America might not be kind of self-abnegation.
