Despite Donald Trump being elected for president this year, one of his negative intentions was to reopen the project in North Dakota. Unfortunately, the United States Army Corps of Engineers has been granted to complete Dakota Access Pipeline despite the protest of environmentalist and Native Americans. The ideology of North Dakota Access Pipeline is it would become an “economic boon”, and would employ of thousands of jobs. The pipeline shall stretch 1,172 miles through four states such as North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and southern Illinois. Too keep in mind, 470,000 barrels of crude oil would be moved within one day.

We First Nations have had 21,000 people sign off on the online petition “hold the wall”. The pipeline route will interfere homes of where six First Nations live and their willing to put their lives on hold to fight against the Enbridge Pipeline.
Rachele Liba Professor Whitehead POSC 100 22 July 2016 Placing a Price on a Green Nation Having lived a nomadic lifestyle across the United States, I have had the opportunity to witness the wonders of our flourishing society and the everyday turmoils that we face. Rigorous innovation has helped Americans fulfill countless dreams, however with every gift there is a usually a price-tag or opportunity cost. Now in the midst of the general presidential election, platforms that represent our beliefs can undergo much needed reform to address the opportunity costs that were surpassed in the process of success. Among the various problems found in our society, a key movement that has raised necessary controversy has to do with environmental policy.
This government in America that people praise and protect everyday, has flaws and people who are corrupt. A recent example would be the Dakota Access Pipeline. Native Americans have been discriminated against since the pilgrims first arrived. Forced to move west due to the white settlers taking over the their territory and kill many who refuse to do what they say, caused the Native Americans to lose their land and dreams. This is similar to what is happening today.
Over the past years Native Americans had cared for their own sacred lands, the story and religion that their primogenitors had taught them. The Native Americans had still carried the strong belief, that their land shall stay the same as if it should've been until new people had come in from elsewhere to change the land to something we all see outside till this day. However, there is a new project “The Dakota Access Pipeline” that had crossed the line of Native American trust between the new people that had changed everything the Natives had had since their ancestors were still living. No matter what effect the pipeline puts on most people there are some positive causes that can change a person such as protesters to think positive towards the pipeline being built on Indian reservation land. Even if the pipeline can cause many people to have a thought that the pipeline should not be built, only if they can hear from both sides, they can have a second thought and allow the pipeline to be built.
“Benefits of Governmental Compromise Regarding the Dakota Access Pipeline” Nations all have unique governments and differences necessary for demonstrating successful leadership. Every country needs different assistance from their leadership, such as Rio requiring infrastructure or Somalia lacking political power. Some governments concern themselves with their politicians’ well-being more so than the people they lead, which creates a relevant problem in America. The United States Government can easily forget about Native American Reservations, or even ignore the people living on them. Recently, the United States Army Corps of Engineers has worked on the Dakota Access Pipeline project, which would cross over Native American ancestral lands,
Fracking: Should It Stop? In 2007, a home in Ohio received an unpleasant surprise when, after turning on the sink, an explosion ensued (Beaver 128). What caused this explosion?
Controversy Surrounding the Keystone XL Pipeline To build or not to build, this choice will impact the relationship between the US and Canada and determine the level of dependence the US will have on countries that are not so friendly. “TransCanada’s proposed Keystone XL Pipeline would transport oil sands crude from Canada and shale oil produced in North Dakota and Montana to a market hub in Nebraska for delivery to Gulf Coast refineries. The pipeline would consist of 875 miles of 36-inch pipe with the capacity to transport 830,000 barrels per day” (Parfomak, Pirog, Luther and Vann 4). The construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline would strengthen the United States economy, provide energy security and have minimal environmental impact. “The Keystone XL project would create $1.1 trillion in private capital investment at no
These highlighted such features as obstructions, existing pipelines and conservation areas. Taking the results of these studies into consideration the most direct pipeline route was used in order to minimize any impact on marine life. An additional reason for choosing the shortest route was to minimize the possibility of rupture which can cause severe environmental damage. Pipes were laid parallel to existing pipes if possible in order to produce less of an environmental impact and risk to other potential seabed users. Although it was preferable to avoid pipeline burial due to the length of time it can take for re-colonisation by marine species it was considered necessary to bury Pipeline A. Pipes A and B are both made of high quality corrosion resistant material, able to withstand high pressure and will be protected against upheaval buckling in order to avoid pipeline rupture which may result in oil spills.
On 7-23-2015 at about 1956 hours I was dispatched to an unwanted subject at the Shell Gas Station at 1439 Auburn Way N, Auburn, King, WA. Enroute dispatch advised that a male was at the location emptying the trash and was refusing to leave when asked by the employee/reporting party, Hany Malak. The subject was described as wearing a black shirt and black shirts. Upon arrival at the location, I saw the employee, Malak, in a verbally altercation with a male matching the description. They were located on the north side of the gas station in between the gas pump stalls.
External Analysis: Microenvironment Introduction The two major competitive factors controlling the external environment are the Macro and the Micro environments. While the Macro deals with the PESTLE affects, the Micro environment deals with the current structure of the industry and the effect of the roles played by the giants of the industry. Figure A-1 The Microenvironment includes the effect of rivalry, suppliers, buyers, distributors and the general public towards the strategy formulation by the company.
Mid-Term Paper – Boeing Analysis MGMT 658 Abstract Unlike other manufacturing industries, aircraft manufacturing is considerably large and complicated. It is a field with high risk involvement. Losses incurred can be quite huge due to the size of the industry. Being the case, the aircraft manufacturing industry calls for intrinsic planning and comparatively larger pool of skilled and cooperative manpower for successful production.
I hope GAMUDA able to help me in improving in preparing knowledge, communication, and identity formation as I check scholarship scheme GAMUDA can give practical training to sponsored students and I am confident through practical training will be able to expose me with the prospect of a career as an engineer. I am very excited about the technology that has been used by GAMUDA in the construction of the MRT as tunnel boring machines (TBMs) that can drill ground at the same time can build a tunnel. I sincerely hope that this opportunity will be given to
When we talk about architecture as a professional activity we do recognise the contribution of different people in the designing process and successful completion of a project. But out of all the relationships among the professionals, a successful Architect –Client relationship plays the most crucial part. Assuming that this relationship can be structured, the researchers have been developing models for a systematic strategy to address the problems and gaps in management of this relationship. In this research, I want to acknowledge the psychological and sociological perspective of this relationship and enhance our understanding of the problems of this relationship.
