The city’s center (downtown area or central business district or CBD) plays a significant role in the social, cultural, financial and political development. This area distinguished by special features differ it from any other areas. This area is characterized by its centralized location, commercial centers, cultural buildings, governance center and main public spaces. Different activities performed within the city center area because of concentration of many activities in one place and different resources are available within reasonable walking distance.

It is a place full of life, ideas and produce are exchanging, social life is formed and diverse activities are occurring (Figure 6).

Litman, T., (2004), mentioned a unique features for the city center like :
- Government Center: city center is the largest concentration for many business activities such as government administration, Economic, Cultural and entertainment centers. The singularity of the city 's center area attracts Economic investments to the city.

- Tourism: city center is always referring to the historical part of the city, so it 's attractive for tourism to walk around the area and enjoy different activities within the city.

- Transportation Diversity: city center provides various forms of transportation system including relatively good walking, taxi, busses and subway. This encourages the concentration of diverse activities.

- Cultural Interchange: the city center area is marked by diverse cultural activities, such as theaters, museums, cinemas, galleries and Cultural Centers. All these activities helping in supporting tourism and enriches citizen 's
