My first year in high school was the most challenging year I faced. I had few friends, intimidating classes, and a very low self esteem. My first few weeks were hard trying to fit in. Everything seemed so challenging and I couldn't help but hang out with the troublemakers in class. It was the only place I could find myself being able to make friends. Then one day, in mid September, I came across a student who wanted me to join this program named the Civil Air Patrol. I wasn't so interested at first glance, but the more I looked into the program, the greater my interests grew. One day I decided to go to one of the meetings out at the Aurora Airport. That day was the start of the greatest program that I have ever participated in. The Civil Air …show more content…
I received training and certificates for first aid and CPR training. I learned how to pilot a Cessna 182 Skylane, and how to fly airplanes solely on instrumentation. I’ve become the Flight Commander of Bravo Flight in the Aurora Composite Squadron, charter number PCR-OR-065. The experiences I've gained from my time within the Civil Air Patrol have led me to become a leader in every situation. At school, I no longer was the quiet one who daydreamed in class. I became productive, influential, charismatic, outgoing, time oriented, and throughout everything I have very high self esteem and a positive attitude. In each of my prior jobs and in my C.A.P. roles, I have been placed in charge of others. In addition to providing me with the skills to pass on knowledge and inspiration, this has also left me naturally confident and comfortable with increased responsibility. I’ve taken my role as a leader very seriously, and while staying away from negative influences such as drugs and alcohol, I’ve led students to success and even to their own leadership roles within various situations. In addition to these leadership positions, I’ve pursued very early college
This position enabled me to liaise with H&HS Squadron MCAS Miramar FRO frequently where I learned a great deal. While serving in this position I was able to volunteer to

What being Hispanic means to me is mainly opportunity. I say opportunity not only in terms of my educational interests, but my social and cultural ones as well. For example, one area in which I 've seen myself taking advantage of these opportunities is theatre. Over the past 3 years at DePauw, I have been very involved with DePauw theatre, and this past year especially, have taken leadership roles within the department. This involvement has opened my eyes as to exactly how little people of color are represented within theatre, not only in acting roles, but especially in leadership roles.
You know I was a paratrooper in both the 101st and 82nd Airborne. Those where exciting times and I worked out a lot of angst
My previous experience with ROTC in school and various leadership positions in school have already staged me to command a crew and deal with high stress environments on a daily basis and still thrive. The added bonus of knowledge mixed with leadership capabilities makes me a great candidate for this position. I am prepared to learn how to direct personnel operations, manage shipboard vertical launch systems, use computer displays and advanced technology in battle and ship defense, and provide support to Navy expeditionary
NROTC Scholarship Essay The United States Marine Corps is the fiercest fighting force on earth. For years I have dreamt of joining that force. Many people in my family have served in the Armed Forces. Naturally service captured my mind.
When I first stumbled upon this scholarship from the American Legion, I knew right away that I wanted to apply for it because of the similarities between what the American Legion and what I both stand for. I few words that I would use to describe the American Legion and myself would be, service, integrity, and hard work. These are a few things that I take very seriously and attempt to involve in my life everyday. I pride myself on these high character traits and try to use them in my community, during sporting events, at home, and at my school. I also implement these traits while fulfilling my civic duties by doing service around my community.
All my life, I have pushed myself to become the best person I can be, in school, in my personal life, and in the various jobs I have held. However, since joining Alpha Phi, I have realized that becoming the best version of me is not the only thing I can do; I want and need to work with the people around me to help them reach their full potential as well. I want to be a leader in my career and my personal life, but I am still working on how to be a great leader. I have started taking on more leadership roles, becoming an officer in clubs I am involved in and becoming the Vice President of Campus Affairs in my chapter of Alpha Phi, but I believe I have not yet reached my full potential and I am an emerging leader. I would like to continue to
Now most people would be nervous of moving to a new school, but all we had to do was move through new hallways since our middle and high school are connected. Freshman year was probably the hardest year I've had looking back at it now and shaped me to be who I am today. Back in 2013 my grandpa had passed away from a rare form of lung cancer and my Mina (grandma) was suffering on and off from it, having no one to take care of her my mom would stay at her house 5 to 6 days out of the week and she would go there right after work. I would hardly see my mom except in the mornings before school and by than she would be sleeping after driving home from Danbury at 5am. My dad was hardly around from work and just not wanting to be home.
I sincerely would love to be a part of the computer science program here at Texas A&M University and feel qualified with my background in computers and various programming languages. I have been working to be the best student I can for this program by participating in coding activities and competitions like Hack TAMU, Hack Texas, Code Red, and some others. Along with that, I have been attending informative seminars like the Google Tech Talks and Resume Workshops hosted here at A&M to learn and help pursue my career related goals in the future. Also, I have become more involved with the Aggie Computing Society to network and attended informative meetings. I feel that I have proven my knowledge, ability to code, and ability to problem solve
I have attended Front Range Community College for the past 3 years. Before attending this school, I had no purpose and no direction in life. The prime reason for not attending college was out of fear of failure. I had previously registered with the school in 2010, but did not register for any courses. In the same year, I had been diagnosed with PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder), and had sought help with a local Veterans Affair clinic.
I have developed leadership qualities when my Tae Kwon Do coach trusted me to lead our team during national championships. This has led me to then hold various leadership positions in undergraduate and dental school clubs. Moreover, my critical thinking abilities have excelled from being a mathematics and physics tutor. Tutoring has always challenged me to think outside the box in complicated problems, and this would allow me to use my creative skills when facing complex cases in my field. Persistence is another key element that is crucial in success.
On my first day of school I could not find peace at mind, classes seemed stressful and people were not sociable or even friendly in my opinion. The procedures at the Texas school were different and I had the worst time adjusting to it. I could not even find anyone to have a deep conversation about who I am.
Then I got to high school. It was a whole new experience for me. I realized I actually needed to start focusing on school. Freshman year wasn’t too bad for me.
Academically and socially, you go through so many different feelings and experience. Many people describe school as stressful. These past two years of my high school experience have shaped the person I am today. This year especially has affected me vastly in all areas of my life. School has driven me to be more ambitious and more conscious of my actions and experiences.
