The primary goal of the seminar is to explore how the brains of jazz musicians function when music is being played, which will combine the use of both the music and neuroscience departments. A liberal arts education encourages every student to expand their horizons on how thinking critically and creatively. Making students ponder how jazz music affects the brain is one supportive example of the expectation of higher learning. With the attention towards jazz music, it should be no surprise that another goal is to promote creativity among the students. Creativity is an essential skill in the workplace for people to hone.
At first I assumed it was not the correct choice for me, but then I got a feel for it and realized how inspiring and life eventful it is. I chose orchestra as my educational activity because it gives you the ability to show off and gain important skills, benefits your body, and teaches you valuable lessons about teamwork. One reason I chose to join orchestra because, it teaches you useful skills,and every so often, tests you on those skills, which can help you in the long run. For example, in an orchestra learn to do things many people can’t. You learn all different types of important skills like how to read sheet music, how to multitask, gain impressive hand-eye coordination, and how to cooperate with people.
If your school doesn’t have the sports you play, a club you want to join, or a musical or theatre program then talk to your school administrators and see if you are able to start your own! When watching the video in class, I felt overwhelmed by an unspeakable emotion.
