Reflective of this course
I hope that my writing level can be greatly improved by the end of the semester. Of course, I hope I can pass this class in the end. I found that the 1033 class had a lot of differences from 1004. All the requirements from the beginning to the end had some changes. For example, the previous time writing was different from the current one. There was no word count requirement before, but 1033. It is required to write at least 600 words. Not only the number of words but also some requirements have changed, so this has added some challenges and difficulties to my writing. Of course, English is not my first language. I have a lot of grammatical and sentence errors when I'm writing. Sometimes I have spelling mistakes.

First of all, 1033 research paper and 1003 requirements have undergone many changes. Changes have occurred in the search of resources. We need to go to the school's website to find academic resources and materials. Of course, first of all we have to choose research topic. I think that choosing a good topic is the most important for a research paper, because if you choose the wrong topic, it means that the next task will be difficult to make progress. I don't think I have any of my own. Choosing a good topic led to my own research paper being difficult to write academically. After looking for about five academic resources, we need to write about the background, relevance, and description of the resource. I think this is very difficult for me, because first of all we need to figure out the contents of each resource and use our own understanding to complete this project3, so I think this is a challenge for me, Project 4 and project 3 are very much related because we need to use the academic resources found in project3 to complete project4. Therefore, if choose bad academic resources, it means is difficult to complete the research paper. Of course, the most difficult in research paper is work cited, because work cited has a uniform format and requirements. And label the author's name or the number of pages of the
Throughout my schooling, I initially was not a strong writer. But, after taking
My goal is to improve writing at the English college level, so that I am able to communicate and write papers clearly for the college class 's requirement and for my future career. Writing is difficult for me because I am a deaf student at the TNCC College. ASL is different from English because it does not include articles, and words such as “is” and “be.” When I write, I have to learn to include all the words that I do not normally use in my native language. This makes it more challenging for me to express myself when writing a paper because the two languages do not match.
I came into my first college writing class feeling prepared thanks to you and your investment in me as a student in your AP Lang class. I developed as a writer more than I ever had in your class, and it definitely helped me in my college writing class this semester. I already knew how important it was to revise and continuously critically think about my writing, as well as the importance of multiple drafts and peer review. My English 110 class this semester was very similar to yours because we also did multiple drafts where I could revise my paper as many times as needed. The big difference was that the focus was on different genres and how to appeal to those, which was something new compared to my high school English courses.
This semester was filled with many bumpy roads. I struggled in the beginning of the semester with my writings , as I didn 't feel confident enough to write a well developed writing. I seemed to find myself struggling whereas writing was not my favorable subject. The major errors I had in my writings this semester would be , grammatical errors, work citations, transition words, formatting ,paragraph development, sentence structure , and sentence level issue. Therefore I have set goals to improve my writing in the future.
Building my vocabulary is still something I would like to improve on, as well as stronger thesis statements. The very first writing assignment, rhetoric analysis,
Skills such as proper grammar and MLA format still need some adjustment. Even though I have things to improve, I was still able to improve some areas of my writing skills regardless even if it was a small improvement. In the beginning, like
My sentences still read very choppy although they are much better than when I started this class. This can be ironed out of my writing by spending more time proofreading my papers. The sentence fluency I think will come the more I write, even by my last paper I feel it has improved drastically compared to my first paper. I think I could have been even more successful in this class if I had spent more time out of class proofreading and using my time better while I was in class. I feel that I have grown more than I originally planned on because this class involved us more in the first quarter.
The three assignments that I have selected from the research toolbox assignment are annotation practice, peer reviews/revision plans, and synthesis matrix. These three research tools have been very helpful to me throughout my last two major assignments, the literature review and research prospectus. The annotation practice was a great way to prepare me on how to cite my sources properly. It also helped me to practice on summarizing sources and putting the authors ideas into my own words.
I want to easily start and end a story. Have better word choice and punctuation. I don’t want to be scared and worried every time I have a big writing piece for another class. I just want to overall be more confident in my writing. My expectations for myself is that I push myself out of my comfort zone for writing.
I tried to write in different situations, but anything that I wrote seemed wrong and out of place. I added and deleted over and over but nothing was working. I throw my head back in
My journey in this English 3001 course during the past ten weeks, and over the course of taking is English class I have grown and learned more that I thought it is necessary for me to know as a student. I have improved in my overall writing skills because if you look at my second in-class essay and the rest of my essay you will see that I have made progress and improvement compare to my diagnostic essay and the first in-class essay. Moreover, now that I have completed the English course my skills are better that I am capable to meet the university standard writing requirements. This English course additionally taught me how powerful the composed word and language can be. This quarter my ability to compose essays and express my thoughts, ideas,
In the last half of this course I am working very hard on my research paper to obtain nothing less on there but an A. I know that I could do it and I am striving towards that. Being in this class, I learn aa lot about myself through my writing assignments. I learned that I could be a good writer if I put all the effort and to not wait last minute to complete my assignments. The research paper is one of the assignments that helped me to improved my writing
My initial weakness was writing essays and thinking of how to organize my ideas properly. Now my strengths are still memorizing things and being able to develop an essay properly. My weakness now is still writing essays, but it has improved and will continue to. I think that the least beneficial assignment this year was the illustrated guide that we did
Major assignments -Work Projects- taught me how to write essays and include employed academic documentation (MLA). In this course, I’ve completed various reading assignments, did independent analytical thinking about what I’ve read, participate in discussions on what I’ve read, write about what I’ve read, and carry out research, this emphasis on reading was to show the importance of critical reading, and how it is going to benefit my studies. Understanding this academic essay structure, the use of rhetorical strategies in essay writing, writing a summary, formulating a thesis, and writing essays using rhetorical strategies. All these skills were the fruit of researching and
I have always had a problem with the way I structured my sentences, and the way I used grammar. Growing up, I never really thought that I had a strong background in these aspects. This has caused many issues in my upper level writing. Many times I have to take extra time out of my day to correct simple grammar and sentence structure issues. This can become very time consuming.
