The Clayton Center is one of the first three mental health community programs and was established in 1971. The Clayton County Service Board has operated it since that time. The board consists of multicultural members from various specializations of mental health. The services provided are consumer driven and primarily deal with developmental disabilities, addictive disorders, mental illness and children with emotional or developmental delays ("Clayton Center"). There are five primary locations and each offers various programs and services such as adult intake, adult counseling, child and young adults counseling, behavioral health services, development disability services, addictive disease counseling, health and wellness, adult day services, and community behavioral health. Charleston Southern University is a private Christian university in South Carolina. The university is at the very young age of fifty-two years old. As you may have guessed due to the age, the schools athletic programs are still building themselves up as well. In the past couple of years the programs have dramatically improved. What has not improved as much as it should have are the universities athletic facilities.
Caycee Cunningham is a typical 8th grade student in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She grew dreadlocks as a part of, as she explains, her spiritual journey in her Hindu beliefs (Kelley, 2015). She says that it is representative of her turning over a new leave and chapter in her life. Her mother received a call one day from the principle of the middle school saying that her daughter’s hair is against the schools dress code. Her mother believes that it is a racial problem, because there are other students at the school of other races, with the same hair style.
The Constitution limits power on Government through Checks and Balances. In a 1944 case between Korematsu and the United States during World War II, a presidential executive order gave the military authority to exclude citizens of Japanese descent from areas deemed critical to national defense and potentially vulnerable to espionage. Along with this they also arrested Japanese Americans and forced them into internment camps. Korematsu however, a US citizen from ancestry descent, refused to leave his home in San Leandro, California. Korematsu appealed, and in 1944 the case reached the Supreme Court.

Introduction The Monterey County Department of Social Services (MCDSS) has a great impact on serving older adults in the Monterey County. The MCDSS has a variety of services in the county including the cities of Salinas, King City and Seaside. The MCDSS mission statement is very clear and precise in what they value and how they will help others value themselves. They have one goal and one goal only, to help serve the client.
University of Central Florida student, Bernarda Elizabet (Eli) Garcia, a junior social work major from Mexico, is the recipient of The Mario Savio Young Activist award, in her fight for immigration rights. Garcia, an undocumented student, has fought for scholarships and awards for other undocumented students. She was nominated for the Young Activist award by Ann Kendrick, a Roman Catholic nun and one of the founders of Hope CommUnity Center in Apopka, where Garcia works. The Hope CommUnity Center is a service learning community dedicated to the empowerment of Central Florida’s immigrant and working poor communities through Education, Advocacy and Spiritual Growth according to their website.
The following social policies and macro issues impact Neveah’s case: education, child mental health, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) equality. In 1974 congress passes the Education of the Handicapped Act, which required schools to provide mental health services to children with serious emotional disturbances (SED) (Fraser & Lanier, 2006). This protocol was included in the child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and helped them gain additional resources in the school setting (Fraser & Lanier, 2006). Prior to residential treatment, Neveah attended a public school and had an IEP.

My internship placement is with the Department of Children and Families Services in the Foster care Program. It is located at 2150 Westbank Expressway in Harvey Louisiana on the 6th floor. The Department of Children and Families (DCFS) is comprised of several programs such as Child Support Enforcement, Child Welfare, Economic Stability, and Child Development and Early Learning. The program that I work for is referred to as the Child Welfare. Child welfare is comprised of the following subprograms: Child Protection Investigation, Foster Care, Adoption, and Home Development.
Motlow State Community College does not offer a cafeteria for students at the Smyrna Center. Constructing a cafeteria at Motlow State Community College would be beneficial for everyone, including the staff and students. A cafeteria would offer convenience for students and staff, increase the attendance rate, and allow students to engage in social interactions with one another. Not only is cafeteria favorable for the Motlow State community, but it would multiply the revenue for the school. Predominantly, constructing a cafeteria will improve the Smyrna campus as a whole.
The Georgia Department of Human Services is composed of three divisions, Aging Services; Family and Children Services; and Child Support and services and has eight offices that include: Audits, Facilities & Support Services, Financial Services, Human Resource Management & Development, Information Technology, Inspector General, Legislative Affairs & Communications and Residential Child Care.(Georgia Department of Human Services, date?) The Division of Aging Services (DAS) works to coordinate and provide services that aid older Georgians to continue living independently in their homes and communities as well as provide support to family members/caregivers. Services provided by DAS include: in home help, nutrition and wellness counseling, caregiver programs, protecting rights and safety of the elderly which includes adult protective services and information about reporting elder abuse (citation). Other services coordinated include Medicare and insurance assistance, senior employment and alternative living
These are: diagnosis &early intervention; rational use of treatment techniques; continuity of care; wide range of services; consumer involvement; partnership with families; involvement of the local community; and integration into primary health care. The idea of community-based mental health care is a global approach rather than an organizational solution. Community-based care means that the large majority of patients requiring mental health care should have the possibility of being treated at community level. Mental health care should not only be local and accessible, but should also be able to address the multiple needs of individuals.
During the walk through I observed Kelsey Reichman and Michelle Jones were caring for 6 infants 6 weeks-14 months. Six week old was asleep in crib on her back while other 5 children were on floor playing. Ashley Brown and Jessica Edwards were caring for 13 children 3 and 4 years old, Ashley was leading circle time at inspection. Leeane Jobe and Shelbe Derrick were caring for 16 children age 4 and 5 as they were in centers throughout the room. Hope Ponder and Chrysal Flagaipupu were caring for 12 children who were 2 years old.
