Summary from last week: This month is Women's History Month and to celebrate this wonderful event, we will be focusing on one of Euripides's very powerful female character Medea. Last week we discussed the links between the roles of Medea and another well-known influential woman, Cleopatra- Cleopatra who lived between 69-30BC was the last Pharaoh of Ptolemaic Egypt. She was known for her superior intelligence and improving her country's standing and economy. She is also famous for her love affairs with Roman leaders Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony. I discussed the relationship between Cleopatra and Medea's superior intelligence and skills, their love life and their intentions to do either harm or good with their power.
Witness how Cleopatra came to power and reigned over Egypt. A way that Cleopatra was a hero is because she restored Egypt to its former glory. Cleopatra was born in 69 B.C. At the age of 18 she became queen of Egypt, as her parents were before her. The next years prior to that, Egypt struggles with a falling economy and famine.
Princess Ruby took over the throne from her brother. Egypt was very pleased with her, after her first year of ruling she made armies stronger, changed laws that resulted in less crime, and reduced tomb robbers from stealing by putting guards in front of the tombs day and night. She also expanded Egypt, growing the territory West allowing the people two bodies of water to trade on, the Red Sea and The Nile River. Everybody was in amazement by what she accomplished and how she was turning the country around. Her Armies where so strong that she defeated the Hyksos and the Hittites.
She had romantic as well as military alliances with the Roman leaders Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. Cleopatra VII is believed to have been born in 70 or 69 B.C., the daughter of Auletes (Ptolemy XII) and Cleopatra V Trypheana. After the death of her father in 51 B.C., the throne of Egypt was passed on the Cleopatra, age 18, and her 10 year old brother, Ptolemy XIII. His advisors stood against Cleopatra, forcing her to flee to Syria in 46 B.C. She returned

This quote from Joan of Arc shows only a fragment of the courage and heroism displayed throughout her lifetime. Jehanne d’Arc was born in 1412 in Domrémy-la-Pucelle, France. This was a time of internal war between two factions of the French royal family, sparking an English desire to reinvade. Joan of Arc was an influential and widely celebrated world leader who left a lasting impact in the lives of people all over the world due to her significance in the 100 Years War, sacrifices for the Roman Catholic church as well as the people of France, and her stance for female courage of martyrdom and to pursue a righteous cause.
Despite having faced many family problems, she was able to accomplish great things including the reestablishment of Protestantism and the defeat of the Spanish Armada. Elizabeth ruled England without a husband and did it just as well as any man could have. Thus, Queen Elizabeth I was one of the greatest rulers England has ever known. To begin, Elizabeth was born to King Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. Because of King Henry’s obsession with having a son, he was furious when Anne gave birth to a girl and accused her of adultery and incest.
Maya Angelou was a very influential woman who had an interesting life. She was a poet, civil rights activist, and much more. She got many awards for her work and overcame segregation. The beginning though, would be a better place to start. Maya Angelou was born in 1928 which was a time when segregation was very real.

A woman whose childhood worth was oppressed but, prominent authoritative value was worth multi-billion dollars. Oprah’s life was always an uphill battle that started with a brutal childhood, breaking through from the past, and finally the endeavor to change her fate. Oprah Winfrey experienced a difficult upbringing but overcame her past and is now one of the most influential females in American society. In the construct of major businesses, the reputation of their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) can influence the achievement of the company.
