Working in a clinic allows me to vision how my private practice will operate. After shadowing for several weeks, the long eight hours of standing and assisting patients was second nature to me. I have the opportunity to work with pediatric and geriatric patients. Although, I have experience working with both outside of the field medicine, I want to continue while in my career. While interacting with geriatric patients, who tells ten-minute stories before mentioning their real symptoms, I realize patience and diligence is a skill I must possess.
I am writing to you in support of Toye Adefioye. Toye Adefioye shadowed me at Daughters of Miriam, a skilled nursing facility in Clifton, New Jersey, from 08/2013 to 06/2014 for over 1500 hours. Toye observed me while I provide therapy to patients of various diagnoses; diagnoses such as general orthopedic, neurological, cardiovascular, wound management, geriatrics, and so on. During this time, He was able to recognize and differentiate facts, and distinguish relevant from irrelevant information.
During a clinical shift, I would be responsible for providing care to patients with malignant hematological diseases, completing pertinent assessments and teaching skills, such as how to care for the mouth when experiencing mucositis and how to avoid infections. Self-reflection on Professional Practice All nurses registered in the general and extended classes are required to complete their self-Assessment every year. Self-Assessment is a self-directed, two-part process that results in a learning plan (CNO self assessment 2018). Through the process of self-assessment, you identify your areas of strength and learning needs (CNO
I am an experienced hardworking, reliable and motivated Senior Nurse. I lead by example and thrive on challenges. I am able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and this is evident when working well within the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). I have worked in Alder Hey children’s Hospital for fourteen years, working initially within the Oncology unit for eight years were I acquired a vast knowledge of sepsis.
I have gained knowledge about informatics. I have learned about the great importance of electronic medical records (EMR) to the current and future of patient charting and documentation. I have gain skills in how patient portals work, their purpose, as well as their importance to patient self-efficacy. My attitude has always been positive to the importance of informatics. I believe that change in health care can be difficult and very hard.
Kaiser Permanente has been equipped since 2007 with Health Connect; which is the largest private electronic health record implementation in the world. This is a highly sophisticated electronic program that integrates inpatient, outpatient, and clinic medical records with appointments, registration, pharmacy, and billing for all kaiser members. In addition, this electronic program includes an entire medical library with a whole set of care support tools which are accessible to doctors, nursing staff and patients (Kaiser Permanente, n.d.). At kaiser permanente; nurses are expected to print out “the after-visit summary” (AVS), which contain the doctor recommendations for each patient that we see.
Filed authorized documents ensuring proper sequencing of forms. Maintained inpatient and outpatient medical records utilizing the Terminal Digit File System. Performed filing and clerical duties associated the retention, maintenance, retrieval, disposition, control of records. Reviewed medical records for accuracy and completeness. There is no denying that the role of a bedside nurse is changing dramatically in this immensely submerged technical century. Patients have enough anxiety and concern about their health care needs. Meeting the team of healthcare professionals in an unfamiliar setting can be intimidating enough. Today with technology, introducing the implementation of electronic health records (EHRs) in the healthcare environment it is important to remain intact with caring, as much as it is to be diligent while documenting a patient's care plan. A nurse should always make the patients feel cared for regardless of all the new technology in the room.
In seventeen years, I have worked in both private and public health settings. My career has exposed me to many aspects of healthcare. I have developed many technical and clinical skills over the years, learned the importance of being thorough yet gentle, and engaged in problem solving of dental-medical issues and patient care. I have worked independently, obtaining a public health license and at other times as a part of a team, providing comprehensive care to patients. My work outside of the traditional office has been the most rewarding and fulfilling: working with disabled, migrant health programs, volunteering through dental outreach programs and as an ambassador with People to People International.
The management issues that should be addressed before we start implementation at Tres Rios Hospital are to build the morale up in our facility. To create a mission statement that will be encouraging to our employees to know, and understand why they are committed to the work they perform each day. As Manager, I must be confident in order to alleviate my staff fears and be clear to each member of what I am expecting of them as an employee. Nevertheless, proving that electronic medical record will be more sufficient than paper process is a key component to implement in planning for the EMR system to be run efficiently. And make any minor tweaks to avoid a system break down.
It appears as though you have been embarking on an array of learning experiences thus far during your practicum experience. The active listening activity related to emergency physician (ED) order set workgroup should provide valuable resources for you to draw upon as you continue to learn about the workflows of both physician and nursing within the emergency room (ER) setting. I have embarked upon workflow experiences related to the identification of MRSA within the ER setting during my practicum experience. The throughput workflow process within the ER setting are very challenging to say the least.
I had the pleasure of visiting with Mrs. Cooke’s fifth grade class during my clinical experiences. Mrs. Cooke has a great rapport with her students and has very little difficult actively engaging students in learning. One of the “takeaways” from my visit references the students’ and teachers’ commitment to the principles of “The Leader in Me”. From a school-wide perspective, East Elementary School does not practice the traditional positive behavior interventions. Instead, the administration has adopted the ideals and principles behind “The Leader in Me”.
Through my clinical experiences, I learned the importance of connecting with patients on a emotional level. One of my patients was recovering from bladder cancer and demonstrated very high levels of anxiety which presented itself through his tendency to constantly page the nurses. It became apparent that he was concerned about his bladder control issues and was fearful about not being able to get help. Instead merely responding to his pages I began actively visiting his room during specific intervals in order to reinforce the idea the help was always nearby. Over a short period of time the constant paging seize as he became more confident that there was always someone checking up on him.
Health statistics are important for knowing the health status of the whole population and its various segments and groups, as well as the trend in health status, the provision and distribution of healthcare services, and the impact of the provided services and programs. he success or failure of healthcare programs cannot be veriied without properly collected and interpreted health statistics. Proper allocation of resources also depends on health statistics. Researchers, presenters, and health care workers and students always need health statistics. However, it is not uncommon to ind a local article or presentation, which reports health statistics from all over the world, but fail to report local statistics from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Despite the many community service opportunities available, it was hard to find one that really resonated with me. Originally, I wanted to volunteer with the Inderkum Jr. Tiger (IJT) football program.
