INTRODUCTION:
Garcinia pedunculata Roxb., Fam. Clusiaceae is a tree bearing yellow coloured fruits common in dense forests of north east India and Andaman Nicobar Islands. The dried rind of the mature but not fully ripen fruits has high medicinal value and used in diet of tribes at Assam and North eastern states of India (Kagyung et al., 2010). It is used in various ailments such as fever, cough, bronchitis, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, obesity and used as a cardiotonic drug (Jayaprakasha et al., 2006). The phytochemical analysis of fruit rinds (GPFR) has shown phytochemicals such as pedunculol, garcinol, cambogin (Sahu et al., 1989) and (-)-hydroxyl citric acid (Jayaprakasha et al., 2003). Hexane and chloroform extracts of GPFR showed antioxidant activity, free radical scavenging activity and strong antimutagenicity hexane extract being more active than chloroform3. The chloroform and hexane extract of GPFR showed MIC on growth of Aspergillus flavus at 3000 and 4000 ppm respectively (Jayaprakasha et al., 2006). GPFR is reported to have antibacterial (Negi et al., 2008), hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory and cardio protective activities (Ravi et al., 2014a, 2014b, 2016).

The tissue homogenate (0.2ml) was added to the test tube containing 0.2ml of EDTA, sodium azide, reduced glutathione, hydrogen peroxide and added 0.4ml of buffer mixed well and incubated at 370c for 10 min. The reaction was arrested by adding 0.5ml of TCA and centrifuged. The supernatant (0.5ml) was pipette into test tube containing 4ml of disodium phosphate and 0.5ml of DTNB. The colour developed was read at 420nm immediately and standard also treated in the similar manner. The level of glutathione peroxidase was expressed as µmoles of glutathione utilized /mg protein/min at 370c (Rotruck et al.,
C4564 Description: IC50: 3-AP is a ribonucleotide reductase inhibitor and iron chelator with antitumor activity. Ribonucleotide reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme for de novo DNA synthesis, is an excellent target for chemotherapy. Its increased activity in cancer cells is associated with malignant transformation and proliferation.
It additionally demonstrated that total free sulfhydryl levels and total antioxidant capacity were lower. It can be presumed that elevated total oxidant status and oxidative stress index levels result in oxidative damage and higher prolidase action results in a rise of collagen production. Over the course of the ailment with clinical changes, serum prolidase activity and oxidative status variables diminished and antioxidant status variables were elevated. As a result, serum prolidase action and oxidative antioxidant status variables might be adjunctive apparatuses for the subsequent treatment of clubfoot.
In Miner’s essay on the Nacirema culture has many comparisons to the United States’ cultures. There are many examples that Miner provides in his essay. The first comparison is to a chest which in the United States’ culture is a medicine cabinet. The second comparison that is made is about the fascination with mouth some people in the United States fear the dentist in the Nacirema culture “They believe that their teeth will fall out, their gums bleed, their jaws shrink, their friends will desert them, and their lovers reject them (Nanda, Warms 2).
Being able to identify unknown microbes from systematic testing is what makes the field of microbiology so important, especially in infectious disease control. Using the testing procedure laid out by the microbiology field we are able to identify unknown bacteria present in our everyday lives, and along the way learn a lot about their characteristics that separate them from other types of bacteria. Being able to do this is vital in order for us to understand why microbes are present in certain places, how they are able to grow and what restricts their growth, that way they can be combatted if necessary. These techniques for determining unknowns are also important for isolating and testing infectious disease microbes in order to prevent spreading. Another important aspect of being able to identify unknown microbes is the
Learning about vaccinations and their correlations this past week reminded me of a high school class I had long ago. There was a unit on eugenetics in the eighth grade where my teacher Mr. Howk showed us the movie Gattaca. Gattaca exists in a fictional world where parents can choose what traits they want their children to have and scientists can alter the zygote so that can happen. Mr. Howk explained that this would be the greatest thing scientists could achieve, if this were to become real. “We could get rid of mental and physical disorders while children are still in the womb!
Catechol oxidase is found in cell cytoplasm, their function in plants are to "help protect damaged plants bacterial and fungal disease." The objective of this experiment is to test the presences of catechol oxidase in various fruits and vegetables. Our group hypothesis states that, If catechol oxidase is present in the selected extracts, the null hypothesis is that catechol oxidase is not present in the selected extracts. Next, the prediction would be, if catechol oxidase doesn't differ with other enzyme sources, then the rates will

There are two assortments of Amla - developed (gramya) and wild (vanya). The wild amla is little, while developed amla is huge, smooth and succulent. Synthetic creation of the amla natural product contains over 80% of water.
Herbal products have been used for treatments since ancient times, before the exploration of synthetic industrial drugs. Since herbs are natural, most of the consumers believes herbal products are completely safe and the product use continuously increased and is reported 10-19% growth in United States. In U.S.A any botanical product affects the structure and functions of the body belongs to either a drug or dietary supplement and FDA regulates the dietary supplement. The 3 concentrations of enzymes were 0.5 ml, 1.0 ml, and 2.0 ml of turnip extract, while the substrate consisted of 0.1ml, 0.2 ml, and 0.4 ml of hydrogen peroxide. In a separate tube, the control was made up of turnip extract and guaiacol, known as the color reagent. This was recorded the absorbance every 20 seconds for 3 minutes.
