The product I have chosen for the purpose of this assignment is Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse. Cocoa Brown was founded in November 2012 by Irish entrepreneur, Marissa Carter. Marissa is a Dublin mum of two, a professional beauty therapist and now one of Ireland’s most celebrated and successful female entrepreneurs. She was inspired to create a tan formula that did not need to develop overnight after she had a spray tan done and slept next to her new born son who woke up bronzed after the tan had transferred onto him while he slept. A few months later, Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse was launched into the Irish market. The product was the first tan formulation in the world that developed on the skin in just 1 hour post-application. It is currently available in three shades: Original Medium, Dark, and Extra Dark. Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Mousse develops on the skin in as little as one hour, eliminating the need to leave it on the skin overnight. The formula allows the active tanning ingredient, DHA, to penetrate the skin more quickly so the tan develops faster. You then shower the mousse off depending on the result you are after. The DHA is derived from vegetable sources and it contains no parabens making it kind to sensitive skin. The mousse formulation makes it simple to apply leading to …show more content…

Following the declaration of UV rays as a known carcinogen, the UV tanning industry experienced a rapid decline. However, it had the opposite effect on the sunless tanning industry which is growing steadily and has been for almost a decade. The self-tanning industry has exploded in the US in recent years as consumers have tried to attain their healthy summer glow in a safer manner (De Castella,

In conclusion tanning may be very popular and fashionable, but it poses numerous internal threats and external health threats. With the information about the threats, we need to put a stop to tanning and preserve our natural beauty. External threats such as malignant melanoma and other types of skin cancers, wrinkles, sunburn, and skin aging. These effects are very dangerous on the skin and can be avoided if the effects are known before the damage is already done. The internal health problems ruin the immune system, making it harder to fight skin cancer and other diseases.
Have you ever wondered if your beliefs are your own, or if you have been indoctrinated by your parents? Just like some parents make their children go to church every Sunday, John Brown’s parents raised him to have a strong hatred of slavery. Sometimes indoctrination is positive. John Brown was an abolitionist who believe, unlike many other, that slavery was evil. John brown was born on May 9, 1800, in Torrington, Connecticut.
Although it may seem that it is common knowledge that UV tanning beds are harmful to the human body, 7.8 million adult women and 1.9 million adult men in the United States still tan indoors. Thirty-five percent of American adults, 59 percent of college students, and 17 percent of teens have reported using a tanning bed in their lifetime. In Oregon, according to the FDA all sunlamp products must have a warning label, an accurate timer, an emergency stop control, and include an exposure schedule and protective goggles, but it should not stop there. Although the males in this study were not proven successful, men aren’t the primary target and have a much lower rate of tanning. However, it is still very important to educate the public and enforce the regulations and policies on indoor tanning. The Federal Trade Commission has been charging the indoor tanning agencies for making false claims on their advertisements on the benefits of indoor tanning. They were forced to remove these ads or face more charges (Szabo, 2014). By educating the public on the truth, it will make others more knowledgeable about the harmful effects of radiation

There are approximately 65,000 new cases nationwide of melanoma and about 9,000 deaths each year from the most preventable disease (Salsberg). Researchers said that there is a death every hour because of melanoma

“In 1775, more than a million pounds of indigo was exported from South Carolina to England” (Indigo’s Political, Economic, Cultural History 1). This massive amount of dye being traded was due to many factors that made it nearly the perfect trade commodity.
